Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), regarded as a top presidential candidate for the 2008 election, has lined up a controversial attack ad specialist to be his campaign manager, RAW STORY has learned.

<snip>

Nelson, along with Karl Rove protegé Scott Howell, produced a controversial ad in Tennessee's 2006 U.S. Senate race between Democrat Harold Ford, Jr. and Republican Bob Corker in which a white woman seductively invites an "off-camera" Ford to call her.

<snip>

It's not the only controversy in the career of Nelson, who served as political director of the 2004 Bush-Cheney re-election team. He was supervisor over James Tobin, the convicted New Hampshire GOP operative who schemed to jam Democratic phone lines in the 2002 election season.

<snip>

He also was involved in disgraced GOP Rep. Tom DeLay's political action committee campaign finance fiasco in Texas.

8. I'm amazed
this guy operated so well on the fringe of all of these scandals that he wasn't implicated himself.

Long time no see. :hi:

11. He's a wily one
It's like he's the Forrest Gump of scandals. Of course, he's a Republican so it's easier for him to find them.

On a more serious note, it does bring into question his judgment. I've known a number of people in my life that, at first, seem to attract shady deals. After I got to know these people I figured out (d'oh) that they didn't attract the shady side of life but actively looked for it.

There's a lot more to McCain than the press is willing to ferret it. They've given him a pass on the same types of things that they would have gone after Republicans for. I've heard it said more than once that McCain would talk about womanizing in front of reporters in 2000 and they cautioned him to be careful with sharing those tales. Hopefully, with help from the internet, if McCain runs, the people will hold him accountable. Same for Giuliani. He's got a number of questionable buddies and some questionable deals that he needs to be asked about too.

:hi: to you too. I still watch KO every night. I just never seem to be near a computer when it's on. My husband likes to watch KO in the bedroom and once I sucked in there I'm done for. I climb on the bed and get surrounded immediately by dogs. They like leaning on me and sucking out all my bodily warmth. I've got two small ones and one big one. Every night, one of the two small ones will crawl up on my lap and wants attention. They look so cute that I hate to move them. The big one, a White German Shepherd, likes to get at the bottom of the bed and watch TV. She gets excited when she hears the first few notes of "The Sabre Dance" during the Oddball segment. She'll stand up and start spinning or she'll run to the TV to get a closer look. She loves the animal pieces. I think her favorite is the bear on the trampoline. She barks whenever she sees the clip come on.

20. That sounds lovely
All warm and cozy. We'd love to see you whenever you can drop in.

I think McCain is going to be too feeble and milquetoast for the campaign. I think he hired this guy to be meaner than he is, and give him a fighting chance against the stronger, more charismatic contenders.

6. How Ironic
a Racist commercial maker, and McCain lost when BUSH and his CHURCH pals started spreading the word about McCain's BLACK LOVE CHILD on car windshields in church parking lots..

Real cute. McCain BLOWING Bush to Tuba Music would be more interesting..

I HATE these RACIST ASSHOLES and will fight them with my dying breath. They have to PIT US against each other, and I'm SICK OF IT.

Sick of the death, the mutilation, a Laughing Monkey and a Crying Hyena (Bush Senior) PRETENDING TO CARE.

FUCK YOU McCAIN, I hope whatever was chewing the skin off your face eats the rest of your brains.

12. Oh, we are in for a lovely 2008 campaign, if this is McCain's
choice. At least we have this ominous foreshadowing of things to come.

15. oh damn, you are good. Now you just gotta apply that evil genius to Republicans.
Morph every GOP candidate from a klansman to Donald Trump to the hillbillies raping Ned Beatty in Deliverance to that pastor in Colorado.

14. don't you get the feeling he won't be a player in the end. he's
too republican, looks old and tired, and he's a whiner. I have

a suspicion that even the repukes are ready for a lighter, more

optimistic person.

16. His big problem is he is more respected by us and moderates than by the right
When I have said anything halfway nice about him around righties, they practically shit. For some reason, they think of him the way we think of Lieberman.

Maybe they would be happier if he publicly advocated killing gays or beat up some illegals, and then said Jesus told him to do it.
