When I seach for "Climate Change" in Google news... |
|
why can't I find any articles from this week about Democrats talking about the issue?
I see lots of articles about politicians in other countries talking about it.
I even found an article about a model Senate at some small college discussing it.
Why no Democrats? What's the deal?

2. Then they shouldn't be collecting their paychecks. |
|
Because they aren't earning them if they can't take the initiative on this.

Leaves one asking who is truly being represented. And then requires us to ask what is our responsibility. I'd say right now we might consider ourselves in a bind with our representatives pretty much deaf to our calls.
Look at all the polls on the Iraq War. All of them call for withdrawal and with the exception of Kucinich and a few others we don't see our Reps taking such a strong stand as do the people. So it's patently obvious they aren't listening.
I see on the front page Congress has an approval rating of 13% so maybe now is the time for us to get a bit more demanding.

I'll look into it.
But given the potential magnitude of this problem and the fact that the party is about to take the reins of Congress, one would think that there'd be more of a buzz about this.
I'm confident that Senator Boxer will do a superb job with her new committee assignment, and I'm impressed with Al Gore's efforts at pushing for change, but is the rest of the team going to show up for the game?

Climate change is a term to reflect the fact that the phenomena has a broader impact than it being a bit warmer than usual during the summer.
I believe the official name of the Kyoto accord is the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
