1. It's a ripoff of Blavatsky's "Secret Doctrine" |
|
But the people this guy is peddling it to will probably think it's original because nobody reads books anymore. Feh.

The book is from 1880, and the style of that day can make your eyeballs fall out, so perhaps it's useful to have the idea out there in a more easily digestible form.
I personally think it's a buncha hooey, but YMMV...

it looks like it was pulled. The person who had it up is suspended. I had saved it to my favorites. I liked it.

At least, if you mean the movie about the "law of attraction." There's at least one other film out there with the same title, which is something else altogether, an action/drama or something. But if you mean the former, it's great great stuff. As with so many of these things, you have to filter out what you don't relate to, and make use of what does resonate for you, but I can tell you that this principle absolutely works. Yeah, you'll find the same concepts in many self-help/New-Age-style books, but it's even more powerful when presented in visual format. I highly recommend it.

10. I watched it with my kids |
|
They rolled their eyes at some of it and were fascinated by other parts.
I think it's great for kids because their patterns of thinking about the world are getting established, and I'd certainly prefer that they feel positive about being alive, capable of directing their lives, and safe and cared for in the universe. It'd also be a great source of encouragement for adults who feel adrift or without hope. And for those who are already inclined toward that positive way of thinking and read books about intent and attraction, it's nice to get those messages in a new non-book format, for a change of pace.
If you're thinking of buying/watching it, I'd say go for it--take what you want and leave the rest... if you only find one or two things about it that resonate with you, that's more than enough. You can't put a price on an improved or more joyful outlook.

6. no, but larry king had a panel on a few weeks ago... |
|
where The Secret was mentioned. Panel was new ageish take control life really is wonderful thingie it's up to you and your attitude. I'm jaded. Most of them looked like crazed evangalists in the outtakes of their shows on the road which turned me off.
but I do believe in retraining your mind. and maybe there's something to that. After all, that's all we have, singly and collectively.

12. I thought they looked a lot like evangelicals too!!! Turned me off too much. |
|
It's BS imo - of course there is something to it, but very little. They take a common sense notion and expand it until it's ridiculous.

I lend it out to my friend, bought another one as a Christmas gift for my girl-friend who want one. It's very good! Movie is about, whatever you want or desire wish for, you can get as long as, you put your mind to it and think positive. I got lot out of it and will be using it after the first of the year.
BTW; it's a learning tool... secrets of many different tools you can use, if, YOU want it and movie will teach you how!
