Saudis reportedly funding Iraqi Sunnis--Shall we attack Saudi Arabia then?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061208/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_insurgency_saudi

CAIRO, Egypt - Private Saudi citizens are giving millions of dollars to Sunni insurgents in Iraq and much of the money is used to buy weapons, including shoulder fired anti-aircraft missiles, according to key Iraqi officials and others familiar with the flow of cash.

Saudi government officials deny that any money from their country is being sent to Iraqis fighting the government and the U.S.-led coalition.

But the U.S. Iraq Study Group report said Saudis are a source of funding for Sunni Arab insurgents. Several truck drivers interviewed by The Associated Press described carrying boxes of cash from Saudi Arabia into Iraq, money they said was headed for insurgents.

Two high-ranking Iraqi officials, speaking on condition of 96 because of the issue's sensitivity, told the AP most of the Saudi money comes from private donations, called zaqat, collected for Islamic causes and charities.
-----------------------------

If you support terrorists or terrorism, you are a terrorist, plain and simple, from our plain and simple leader's mouth to your brain. So if the wealthy Saudis are sponsoring terrorists, doesn't that automatically give us the right, nay the duty to invade and conquer Saudi Arabia and it's terrorist regime.

I'm waiting george...................

1. Good morning raptor....
we seem to be on the same schedule.

I have some problems with our "good friends", the Saudis, supplying money to the very people that want to kill our fighting men and women. Of course I don't expect anyone in the White House to share those feelings. They're our GOOD BUDDIES, after all, Bandar Bush and all that horse-hockey, so they would NEVER do anything to harm our warm. wonderful relationship. Right? :eyes:

The Saudis have been sticking it in our ass for decades but the Bush family's ties to the House of Saud make everything OK. They're pals so it doesn't matter if the rest of the country gets screwed, just as long as the Bushs and Sauds are tight and the money keeps rolling into the Bush coffers.

Yeah. This pisses me off to no end. :grr:

2. It won't even be mentioned by bush
Now if it had been Clinton kissing the Saudi's asses, oh well, that's an excercise in futility.

3. Remember that the entire Bush family is so close to the Saudis that
one of them is called "bin Bush" because they are so frequently together. That to attack the Saudis would be like attacking family.

4. Hmmm....
The Saudis are mostly Sunni, as are most Syrians, Jordanians, Egyptians, Indonesians, millions of Lebanese. My guess is that money is coming from all of those places for the Sunnis in Iraq. Will this conflict in Iraq be a Victory for Busholini?

9. * has a big problem. He's picked a fight in a nation that
is majority Shi'a, and he's been trying to keep the lid on this pressure cooker to preserve the interests of the Saudis and Israel too. He seriously screwed up big time. Wrong war for the wrong reasons. I'd have greater pleasure in seeing him squirm if it weren't for the very real fact that many lives are being lost and destroyed because of his inept croynism.

6. Why, cause the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis?
That wouldn't be very sporting of us.

10. You're right, they should have been confronted along with
taking out the taliban. But I wouldnt have attacked until they refused to stop building extremist madrassas, spreading anti-semitism and funding terror groups .

11. Because of religious sectarianism, could it be possible for Iraq to become
a catalyst for a regional war between Saudi Arabia (siding with the Sunni Muslims) and Iran (siding with the Shi'ites)?

12. I think too much is being made of religious sectarianism.
Iraq is the only country with a Shia majority and Sunni leadership. In almost all the other Arab countries the Shia are too small a minority to threaten the majority. Lebanon and a couple of gulf emirates being the exceptions. And most Sunnis do not follow Saudi Arabias salafist form of Islam.

13. How many of the 9-11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia? And
how many have we "captured and brought to justice"? The * family sleeps with that enemy!
