DU Imus fans, please explain that the appeal of that man to me. |
|
I've channel surfed by a few times over the past week and hear him riffing about how bad the war is and how badly the troops are being treated etc. Then this morning when I surfed by and stopped a couple of seconds, he's tearing the Dixie Chicks apart, calling Natalie Mains a "fat pig." These were women who also spoke out against the war policy. How does this man reconcile those statements? What is his appeal and why do people genuflect in his general direction.
I stopped back by to catch Paul Begala making as ass of himself with Imus. Why? Just... why?

I have it on while I'm waiting for Washington Journal. The fascination for me is that his opinions come from whatever side of the bed he rolled out of. Oops! Time to change channels.
Oh geez...I forgot it was Fascist Friday :(

4. If you can find one inside DU, I'll be amazed. |
|
I haven't been a fan of his since the early 70s, when his shtick was breaking chops on radio and tv evangelists.

5. Not a "fan" of anyone, |
|
but I enjoy the Imus show. It's one of those things that a person either likes, or doesn't.

8. There's a difference between liking his show and endorsing his politics |
|
I do neither, but apparently some people enjoy the mumbling corpse.
Really, just once I'd like to see someone ask him, why the hell do your opinions matter?

9. And why does he get to be on TELEVISION? I SWEAR you beat |
|
me to it. It's as much of a mystery to me as why Rita Cosby has a job newscasting. How did he get to do this? Was he at one point a country-western rock star? Why would he do something like chew gum if he's talking into a mike? What's up with that?
