Question: Small claims court...and a little rant.
Edited on Fri Dec-08-06 10:25 AM by BlueJazz
A friend of mine has been forced to file a claim in Small claims court against
Bank of America.
(His Credit card number was used in a "Fraud Deal"...(home shopping network)
...and for 3 months he's had to jump through Hoops trying to get BOA to fix the damn thing..
it's for $472.00.

He went down to file this morning and had to pay something like $260.00 to file.

I guess why I'm kinda' pissed is: I thought our taxes pay for (at least) some of the
costs of this kind of stuff...I mean...it's only 1 stinking page to fill out and the
court has to send BOA a letter and all that stuff (big Deal) but 260 bucks? Geezzz....

I guess the bottom line is ...if a company owes you 300 dollars you're essentially screwed...
(ain't worth the time and effort)

ON EDIT: I guess my point is: If you don't have the outrageous filing Fees you're fucked.
...same ol' crap... Screw the Poor.

1. I think
if he wins the case he can recover court costs from BOA.

5. It depends where you're at
I had to go to small claims about 15 years ago where I live the filing costs was 25.00, which I recovered as a part of the judgement.
