Will someone please explain this? |
|
If an educator or healthcare professional suspects that a child is being abused in any form, they are required to report it to the proper authorities for investigation.
If a member of Congress suspects that a colleague is potentially sexually abusing children, they can sweep it under the rug.

I would be calling the district attorneys and filing suit. This is not an acceptable outcome.
It is not rational. It can't be explained except as cowardice and weaseling.

5. My wife is a "mandatory reporter." |

As an APRN, she is legally bound to report suspected abuse to the authorities. Since the congress exempts themselves from every other rule and law they place upon society in general, I doubt they'd write themselves into any such legal (or ethical) requirement.
