Who's jacking w/ the gas prices this week?
$2.19 earlier this week, $2.35 **this morning** at 8:30am and then $2.09 **this afternoon** at 4:30 pm--same gas station.

Anyone else seeing weird fluctuations??

1. Is that a ripple coming back from the Cheney-Saudi meeting?
Where the Saudis suggested that they would lower the prices to keep the Iranians from roaming far afield? Maybe they started working the threat. Alternatively, I read that the Saudis were griping that there was too much inventory on hand, so maybe the OPEC nations are reluctantly letting loose with their assets to push down the cost. The third thing could be that because of the warm spell through much of November, sales of heating oil haven't been up to par, so they're raising cash by discounting gasoline....

2. That's cheap compared to here!
How about $2.65 for regular here in Oregon? It's been this way since the day after the election. Even the gas station people say it's a racket.

3. Sounds like a station owner who can't make up his mind.
Does he want to drive someone else out of business, or not?

4. Gas prices are fluctuating here in North Texas but the general
trend is up. It's been that way since after the election.

5. Our's went from a steady $2.01...
Edited on Fri Dec-08-06 06:54 PM by Ahpook
before the elections to a heavy jump of 17 cents per gallon just after. Oddly enough, it dropped a penny a few days ago and holding there.

Fucking scam....
