A statement of mind-shredding hypocrisy just came through my CSPAN
Jeff Flake is on the House whining about a bill to deny severance packages to outgoing GOP Staff. And then he said "To drop it in the middle of the night, unannounced, is not good business" :nuke:

Where do I start with that statement?

7. Where the hell has he been?
Does Schiavo ring a bell with this idiot? Has he missed every time they held a late night "slipping it in" because he had already left for vacation?

They knew that they could lose their jobs when their Reps lost their elections.
What about all the people that lost their jobs due to this administrations policies? Did they reach out for severance packages for them?

I feel bad for anyone who loses their job, especially just before the holidays, but they knew what was coming since November 7th. Many out here don't get that long to plan their next step. Perhaps they need to tap their friends in private business to "find a placement" for these people. You'd think they didn't have any connections to hear them talk.

9. You point out, rightly, that
"hey knew that they could lose their jobs when their Reps lost their elections.
What about all the people that lost their jobs due to this administrations policies? Did they reach out for severance packages for them?"

Nope, there were no tears then. Apparently the little Piggies only squeal when they and their own are stuck. The rest of us don't merit their pity. Like you, I feel bad for anyone who loses their job...and losing it at this time of year is especially hard. Not everybody, though, will be able to rely on the connections you mention this bunch having. An ordinary American whose job has been shipped to India or China has no such options.

11. Now it's almost 3 AM and they are all still there
If they had only worked more days this year, they would all be home tucked into bed by now.
