Edited on Fri Dec-08-06 11:24 PM by Viva_La_Revolution
The Senate just called for Quarum... waiting on a bill to pass in the House.

House is debating Pensions for aides who lost their jobs in the Dem takeover...

Shouldn't they be on vacation or something?

They are being paid handsomely (and I don't mean by salary) to run this country.

7. Not when there is one last chance to screw over workers.
I posted this in another thread, but if the staffers don't get a package, I hope their Christmas presents to their former bosses consist of an open letter to the American people detailing all the horrible things they were made to cover up. Merry Christmas, f*ckers!!:hi:

11. Florida drilling bill?
I don't have access to CSPAN right now. Did the Senate pass the bill that permits oil drilling in Gulf waters (passed by the House earlier)? My understanding is, that bill was bundled with a zillion other things, some maybe a little more controversial for Repubs, like a trade bill, and that's the best hope for it going down.

If you see or hear of this one, please shout out on the thread, I want to know what happens there.

Senate is waiting to vote on: FY 2007 Spending, and Tax Cuts Extension.

The drilling bill is probably on the internets tubes somewhere!!!

info on whether the Senate has voted on it yet.

13. As far as I know, the Dems are trying to pass a bill that would delay any raise
for the Hosue, Senate & Cenney until the minimum wage is passed. I think they also attached the bonus payments for the staffers who are being retired due to the outgoing Pubs who lost the election. I don't know if I have the patience to sit a watch this BS tonight, but I wish the Dems luck!

23. Tis the season ....
They always do this before they go on recess ... and this is like the Super Bowl of US Politics. It's 3rd down, a flag on the play, and the clock is running down. If you're like me, I have to know if they are going to pass, run the ball, or kick ... and will it make it before the whistle?

 (Can you tell I'm not much of a sports fan?)

harrasing someone? Guess he never read any headlines about women (usually) who are killed by people who have restraining orders against them? Who thinks a phone spoofing bill is going to save a life ... raise your hand.

30. OMG Pallone kicks ass.
Makes the Rep. Barton from Texas withdraw his request for unanimous consent on a bill. Date/time stamp of the bill being asked consent for (12/8/06) is different from the one Pallone has (11/30/06). Looks like they may have changed the bill within the last hour and tried to sneak it in?

31. they have been doing that all night
Dems have had to ask for clarification on a great number of the bills they are trying to ram through tonight.

Read up thread about Rep. Scott shaming them into, at the very least, showing them the bill before they are asked to vote on them!
