I did not start the thread asking for freepers to respond. If someone wants to invite conservatives to post here, maybe they need to try to change the posting rules. Starting a thread asking for freepers to respond is akin to saying "mirror mirror on the wall". You get the response you want.......none.

I'm conflicted about this kind of argument. On one hand, you have to call out the 'military groupies' on their bloodlust while never considering doing the fighting themselves. On the other hand, advocacy of a position doesn't always mean it makes sense to participate in it yourself. For example, though I want peace in the region, I won't volunteer to be a human shield. Saying that participation is a precondition for commenting on policy means, at least for military decisions, that the only people suited to make such military decisions are members of the military and ex-soldiers. If that were true, you can bet that things in Iraq wouldn't stop anytime soon.
