<snip>

Glenn Beck and Neil Cavuto are among the conservatives who have called the film an animated version of the Al Gore documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, even though Happy Feet revolves around an anti-pollution message, not global warming. Other conservatives have noted that the penguin friends of lead character Mumble (voiced by Elijah Wood) appear to be gay.

I saw the movie a couple of weeks ago with my five-year-old son and my father-in-law, and for us, the problem with the film was not the environmental message, but the un-clever way the message it's introduced.

1. Beck and Cavuto think every movie should be "Team America World Police."
Even if that movie sucked ass.

4. Worst..movie ..ever
The South Park guys should stick to poop and fart jokes since calling their understanding of politics trivial would be giving it too much credit.

2. I had to leave the movie close to the middle. .....
sterotyped scary animated penquins that to me seemed to scoff or mock African American preachers and hispanics.

I just couldn't take it....found the animated figures scary and the message trivialized.

I don't watch Fox so I don't know what those people say about anything and don't care. I catch some stuff on DU about what they say...but I thought Penquins would be better according to what some DU'ers said about it.

I didn't like it and it wasn't due to some RW'ers crapping on it. It was my own decision...and I'm a DU way Lefty.

3. it could have been better and mocking religion was un-needed and the ending seemed rushed and
contrived - including the girlfriend that didn't want kids so she waited for our hero Mumbles

but in the end it was just a cartoon, some good lines and some good music -

and the crap that offended me went right over the top of the heads of the pre school and grade 1 to 3 crowd that was 95% of the folks in the theater

I had to explain why we did not walk out to the 12 yr old, and the 8 yr old had questions, but the younger crowd just saw animated penguins sing and dance.
