bush convinced history will ultimately vindicate him. Yeah, right.
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/478933p-402763c.html

"He'll be fine but he can't be doing very good," said a well-placed Bush source who talks with the President often. "It's been a terrible year, and it keeps getting worse."

Yet Bush is described by another recent visitor as still resolutely defiant, convinced history will ultimately vindicate him.

"I'll be dead when they get it right," he said during an Oval Office meeting last week.

"The White House is totally constipated," a former aide complained. "There's not enough adult leadership, and the 30-year-olds still think it's 2000 and they're riding high."

1. FINALLY, bush says something I 100% agree with.
"I'll be dead when they get it right,"

But first comes impeachment & indictment.

12. Harry Truman wanted to enact health care for middle class and the poor.
Bush did not really want a federal program and this Medicare Part D appears a private program with a thin wrapping of federal wrapping paper.

GWBush acted warlike as LBJ and Truman without the compassionate social programs.

Historians will rate Bush as low as Hoover and Nixon.

4. The worst thing?
He's going to be their scapegoat and doesn't even realize it. He's halfway into the wolf den already and thinks he's going to a party.

His fate is SEALED and NO ONE is going to vindicate his dumb ass. They're going to make him out to be the reason it all went to hell, rather than facing the fact that their whole ideology is a pack of lies and insane assumptions.

5. True, he's the orphan left on the doorstep, but no one wants him.
Honey, someone left a really ugly monkey ass looking baby on our porch.

"Just shut the door and come to bed Darynn".

He is SO screwed.

19. Been saying this for years.
he pushed their agenda further than anyone could have dreamed. He is losing steam and they know it. Let him ride through the last few mi. then watch them turn on him. It WILL happen.

We need to continue to be vigilant though. The agenda, be it oil, a more powerful war machine, Halliburton money and/or a breakdown of America's system of government, is very progressed at this point. Even a step or two back would make for an easy recovery in the future. Bush is ONLY a face man and we must not forget it. Even if it looks as if things are finally going the other way we must continue to DEMAND accountability and truth.

8. it is uncanny how much true dictators think alike.
long ago and once upon a time, during his trial (in a military court, or not. i don't remember) for his assault on the cuartel moncada, fidel castro said, "HISTORY WILL ABSOLVE ME". i believe he even wrote a book HISTORY WILL ABSOLVE ME how sooooooo much like "history will vindicate me" it is uncanny!

11. He was also convinced the Republicans would prevail in the midterms,
the war in Iraq would be a cake walk, and the ISG is a vindication of his policies. Do we see a trend here?

15. Depends on whose history...
And the truth behind what's being said. People would more favorably respond to the truth than through spin.

and the 30-year-olds still think it's 2000 and they're riding high."

Does that suggest 30-year-olds are about to be knocked down?

16. Look at this part!
A senior Republican official who enjoys excellent relations with the White House was even more downbeat.

"We will get an immigration bill, and the President will make a valiant but doomed attempt at entitlement reform," he said. "But we are looking at two frustrating years of gridlock and several foreign policy failures."

Ya' think? Or do you think bush will be the hot seat with investigations revealing the full depth of his corruption and lies? Now, try that and be even more downbeat, "senior Republican official."

Cher

18. Fundie martyr to the end...
They all like to think that their 'reward' will come after they die, and the punishment too, of course, which they don't think they deserve. Yep, no need to fix things up around here, Gawd will take care of it.

I bet he'll die believing this, and he'll still be wrong.

History won't vindicate him, it will bury him, along with the Millard Fillmore's of the world.
