Iraqi leader: U.S. report is 'dangerous'

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061210/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_us_report

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Sunday harshly criticized the bipartisan report recommending changes to U.S. war policies, saying it contained some "very dangerous" recommendations that would undermine the sovereignty of Iraq.

Talabani, a Kurd, said the report "is not fair, is not just and it contains some very dangerous articles which undermine the sovereignty of Iraq and the constitution."

He singled out the report's call for the approval of a de-Baathification law that could allow thousands of officials from Saddam Hussein's ousted party to return to their jobs.

"There is an article to bring back the Baathists to the political scene, which is very dangerous," he said in an interview with reporters at his office in Baghdad.

that figure may have been billions, as I am getting old and my memory may not be the best. If I remember correctly it was something like 28 tons of 100 greenback dollars. lots of money

7. One ton of bills is approximately a million bills.
If those bills are humdreds, thats one hundred million $ per ton. Twenty eight tons would be twenty eight hundred million or 2.8 billion dollars.

9. Retirement slush fund? Perhaps. Maybe playin his 'stay outta jail' card?
By seeing PERSONALLY to the shredding of certain papers.

I always figured the invasion of Iraq and removal of Saddam was as much for eliminating old incriminating paper trails as for oil reserves and gas pipeline routes. Rummy, Cheney and their masters have much 'splaining to do and it seems likely they don't want to deal with anyone outing their shady dealings from other decades.
