I finally got around to watching The Road to Guantanamo. I cannot describe the revulsion and guilt..
I felt about how the government and the military of the United States completely turned its back on the US Constitution, the Geneva Conventions, and just plain common sense and humanity in its drive to root out "Al Qaeda".

If you haven't seen it, I cannot encourage you enough to do so. It focuses on a group of friends who happened to choose the worst possible time to go to Afghanistan to try and help the people there and get caught up by the Northern Alliance as they tried to get back to Pakistan and ended up corralled as "Al Qaeda"/Taliban and spent years in confinement and suffering Rumsfeld's approved interrogation techniques.

Here's some info on the film:

3. I rented it through my Blockbuster subscription. It's a very well produced film.

4. I mentioned seeing it last week...it is an absolute must-see movie
Very well-produced (I needed the subtitles) movie that shows what is being done in our name... it graphically shows just how useless torture is as well.

A MUST-SEE!

6. I know it was a dramatization but it's based on the Tipton Three's experiences....
the scenes with the interrogators trying to coerce confessions of being in Al Qaeda are just so freakin' maddening and disheartening. The US military has been turned into a complete pawn of war-mongerers spreading their paranoia throughout the military, and the rest of the nation.

OMG! A Muslim! He's Al Qaeda! Get him!

5. I got a Bummer Bonanza...
from Netflix this week.

"Who Killed the Electric Car?"

"Road to Guantanamo"

"Iraq for Sale... War Profits"

Am I depressed? You bet!

I find it ironic that people who claim to love America more than us "surrender monkeys/blame America firsters/anti-Americans" are out to destroy this country for their own personal economic or political gain.
