Has King Karl Lost His Magic Touch?
Has King Karl Lost His Magic Touch?

It's an ugly rumor, but it's spreading like wildfire: Karl Rove has lost his touch. In an amazing betrayal within a family where top political aide Rove is royalty, Bushies have been sneering at his pre-election happy talk that the gop would keep the Senate and take a slight hit in the House, both soon to be run by Democrats. And now we learn that President Bush really believed the GOP was safe, too. On the day before the elections, he asked embattled House gop leader Dennis Hastert to run for speaker again so he could guide the White House's agenda in Congress.

2. Rove Was Mugged By Lincoln
"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time." - Abraham Lincoln

heck, and while I'm at it, some more from Abe:

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts."

and my favorite:

"When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion."

6. It's up to us.
If grassroots activists ignore House races in 2008, then the GOP can take back the House, and Karl Rove will be vindicated in saying that 2006 was fluke.

But if we volunteer and keep the GOP in the minority after 2008, then the pundits can say that Karl Rove lost his touch.

tons of funding from corporate America. I suspect he also had illegal wiretaps of his political opponents, but that hasn't been demonstrated. Yet.

And of course, his other asset- a complete lack of moral compunction. Rove is willing to *do* things that are so far beneath the average person, they'd never even *think* of it.

These things seem to play well with Beltway hacks like Chris Matthews, but I fail to see how they add up to "genius".

14. Not to mention kkkarl had his tentacles into the Abramoff K Street group.
kkkarl was never a genius. What will always distinguish rove is that no trick was ever too dirty, and there were ALWAYS new lows to sink to. kkkarl ruled with fear and initimation, the classical bully, just like bush*.

19. That's what happens when your failures include taking a dive from 91% approval to 31%
approval... i.e., the president's popularity numbers, which kkkarl is in charge of.

People FINALLY caught on that his McMansion of politics is nothing but a pile of wet cardboard.

22. It's a wonder Bush was so mislead
We had knowledge from our opponent's campaign that he thought the Republicans would lose. And if Tom Davis (R-VA) thought the House would be lost, why didn't Bush know?
