2. Oooo I sure hope so! This was in an area called Buckhead,
which is aquite wealthy section of Atlanta. Not usually the type to protest.

5. I would bet the protesters were from areas other than Buckhead.
Likely made the trip from Inman, Candler, Va-Highlands, midtown, and other "more socially conscious" neighborhoods.

6. Oh, Buckhead.
Yeah, wasn't that the Freeper handle used by a GOP operative? I don't even remember which story he was involved in. Rathergate?

9. I don't know. I heard it on our 11PM news and they showed the
protesters being escorted out the door.

The only part of his speech they played was when he said "It's great that we live in a country where people are free to speak their minds." Of course that was just after the protesters were thrown out!

7. Hillary Clinton gave the talk there last year. Past speakers include....
Edited on Sun Dec-10-06 11:48 PM by Poll_Blind
2005 Hillary Clinton
2004 Ehud Olmert
2003 Bill Clinton
2002 Jimmy Carter

Wolfowitz was probably not the best choice for a speaker given that the topic would be espousing the virtues of the World Bank which has been criticized widely for preying on poor countries desperately in need of money. He also brings Iraq War baggage. Oh, and the PNAC baggage. Tough to imagine the whole audience wasn't protesters!

Maybe consider inviting Carter back next year? ;-)

11. How does he even have a job?
Let's see: you counseled the ill-advised war in Iraq using phony evidence. You sold Rumsfield on it. Now we're in a quagmire. You would think that people might be suspicious of his judgment. But nope, they installed him as head of the World Bank.
