Every day that w is not stopped will get worse and worse. |
|
A few of us have noticed that the ship is sinking slowly beneath the waves, but we don't want to panic the others by shouting I guess. A few are looking to the inept captain for salvation, but the captain refuses to acknowledge the danger and deal with it.
History will note in amazement how the passengers all stood around lazily on the deck listening to music as the ship of state floundered and vanished.
Once you've determined that the president is an incompetent disaster in human form and that he is the number one problem we face, and then allow the same idiot to continue on as if, then you get what you deserve.
People keep expecting the system to work, expecting the crew to figure it all out and keep the ship afloat, but those people are deluded and doomed. The only ones who will survive this are the smart ones, the ones who were alert to danger the whole time, and the ones on the lifeboats.
Until bush and his buddies are stopped and removed, literally and physically, we can only expect more disaster. Next week at this time it will be exponentially worse, and the month after that, twice as bad. We can all see where this is headed, all of us but the captain and his crew.

1. Not content with saying how prescient he is in |

one post, Philosoraptor just had to repeat the same thing by starting yet another thread. Here's a clue or two: Hope is more powerful than fear. No good ever came from pronouncements like yours, though mankind has been entertaining itelf for millennia with this kind of thinking, and finally, you don't have a crystal ball, buddy.

3. Well, I guess you found one milling around on the deck |
|
that didn't like being noticed and distract from their milling.

the president is an incompetent disaster in human form and that he is the number one problem we face...
This is the heart of it. All of the problems America faces now are made immeasurably worse by the presence of a rigid, disturbed, psychotic "leader" in the White House. Many were directly caused by his mindless actions. But the tide is turning. People are fed up. There is no obvious reason why America, and the world, should be forced to endure two more years of ruin from this enemy of the state and his accomplices.
It's time for them to go.

5. Take a chill pill there, Philo. |

Methinks your sense of time is a bit fast.
History takes time; starts with days, goes to weeks, months, and years.
As a young History Grad, I was once told by a very eminent Historian that "History starts at 40 years" (this was in response to my proposed Masters Thesis which concerned an event that had happened less than 30 years prior).
Right now, this day, we are in a holding pattern; the time between session of Congress. Come January 4, 2007, with a new crew manning the Ship of State, I am confident that we will see things pick up. Investigations, reporters and the media sleuthing out stories of crimes will now come to light as the Bush regime gets itself more and more wrapped up in the twin dilemmas of Iraq and answering Congressional Subpoenas.
It will start with a day, and go to weeks, then months, finally years.
But at somewhere along that flow to come, History as it unfolds; the drip, drip, drip, of the results of those investigations and that sleuthing will result in a new captain too.
So chill out, work for change, but also...............enjoy the show.
