Iran Opens Holocaust Conference

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iran on Monday opened a Holocaust conference that it said would examine whether the genocide took place, claiming the meeting was an opportunity for discussion in an atmosphere free of Western taboos.

The conference, "Review of the Holocaust: Global Vision," was initiated by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has described the Holocaust as a "myth" and called for Israel to be wiped off the map. Even before it opened, the gathering was condemned by Germany, the United States and Israel.

I saw an interview yesterday by Leslie Blitzer with Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, head of Iraq's largest Shiite party in Iraq, and Blitzer asked him if he thought this was appropriate and if he believed the Holocaust never happened. He refused to answer the question...which means yes, he agrees with the conference. Then Blitzer asked him if he agreed with Ahmedinejad that Israel should be wiped off the map and again, he refused to answer the question. That tells me that he does agree with the maniac. Nice, eh? I guess all the Holocaust survivors gave themselves all those tatoo numbers on their arms and dug the mass graves for their loved ones.:eyes:
