I knew it had to be there!
On the freakers site they are hot and heavily discussing, well lets just say they are trying to post intelligent replies, to the Seattle airport removing the holiday trees. I am not posting a URL as the rules here state that they did not want to promote and otherwise give free advertisement to their site. But anyway, the usual remarks and retorts (along with the requisite misspellings and horrid misuse of punctuation marks) about Xmas, god and all that stuff. What's funny is that there are crapping on the rabbi and some are saying some not so nice thing about Jews. I find that very funny as the fundies need the Jews in order to fulfill the new testament's prophecy about the world ending and so allow the fundies, but NOT THE JEWS :rofl: immediate entry into heaven via levitation (Look ma, no strings!)

3. Christmas trees are anti-Christian.
Jeremiah 10:2-4

This is what the LORD says:
"Do not learn the ways of the nations
or be terrified by signs in the sky,
though the nations are terrified by them.

For the customs of the peoples are worthless;
they cut a tree out of the forest,
and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.

They adorn it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so it will not totter.

4. How in the world is that anti-Christian?
It looks like good, old-fashioned religious-wrapped xenophobia from the "good" book.

Plus, wikipedia says that Jeremiah was written to chronicle the times, nearly 600 years BC!!

"It was originally written in a complex and poetic Hebrew (apart from verse 10:11, curiously written in Aramaic), recording the words and events surrounding the life of the Jewish prophet Jeremiah who lived at the time of the destruction of Solomon's Temple (587/6 BC) in Jerusalem during the fall of the Kingdom of Judah at the hands of Babylonia." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Jeremiah

5. Well, last I checked, Christians did acknowledge the whole bible.
Though many do tend to be a little selective in what they will or will not accept from the Old Testament.

2. The whole SeaTac Christmas tree thing just burns me up. The rabbi
never asked and did not want the tree removed. He just thought a menorah belonged there, too (which it DOES). Some fundie at the airport probably decided that "if we can't have this season an exclusive "Christian" celebration then we're not not going to have any celebration at all". God forbid they be INCLUSIVE. That might mean they would have to put up another pagan symbol, the pentagram (in addition to the tree, which is a symbol of YULE).

6. He didn't just think it should be there, he hired a lawyer and threatened to sue if it wasn't.
That's hardly the same.
