What happens if the ISG Rept is ignored, which IS likely?
What I think about the ISG Report, that it is:

1) way too intricate in demanding lots and lots of things from EVERYBODY, and

2) calls for an incredible amount of COMMITMENT, COOPERATION, and plain old GOOD WILL from all of those participants, whose REAL stance ranges from HOSTILITY to CYNICISM to APATHY/INDIFFERENCE. It would call for a world-historical personality to put it into reality, and even the Shrub idolators will admit he is NOT THAT, besides that he doesn't even WANT it.

-----------

So what IS the likely outcome. There continue to be portentous hints about the Arab world being a tinder box, that the Saudi royals and others are on the verge of collapse. What if it DOES explode? This would be in a PRE-nuclear Arab condition.

LIMBOsevic routinely claims that the only real solutions are TOTAL victory and defeat: That somebody has to be SUBJUGATED. Fundies are just WANTING their supposed apocalyse.

If the Arab world exploded, what would be the outcome? Who would emerge?

1. I may be too cynical to live but imho, this report was generated
as a club to use on Democrats from here to 08.

"Look, they had TWO YEARS to implement our wonderful ISG. And, they failed. Can't trust Democrats with national security or foreign poliicy."

(i.e., take ownership of through outright thievery) Iraq's oil.

And WE are "demanding" that Iraqis behave? We, the world's biggest WAR CRIMINAL STATE?? They ought to tell us what we can do with that report.

He hasn't mentioned ISG. What priorities.

6. Somebody said the report was 'America-centric'.
And I guess it is.
More about us and how to extricate ourselves while paying some lip service to the plight of the Iraqis in particular, and the middle east in general.

Is it OUR problem?
Or the Iraqi's problem?
Or both?

Iraq had problems before we invaded and they probably will after we're gone.
If that ever happens.
My saying for the day:
"Go, or stay...we're screwn either way."

From a purely selfish point of view, if the Arab world explodes we'll probably look back fondly to the days when gas was only $3 a gallon and wasn't rationed.
:-(

7. IMO the Bush position will be............
to stay the course and allow the death to continue and FORCE the Dems in congress to do the only thing they can do.... threaten to cut off funding. That way the AWOL/moron will be able to site the "Stab in the Back" as the reason we lost the war. "Them democrats stabbed my winning statergy in the back by cutting off our fine military's funding just as we was about to win."

Worked for the NAZI's re WWI to help start WWI and worked for Rethugs accusing Roosevelt and Truman of "selling us out" at Yalta to the commie's. This allowed The Repug, McCarthy to run over American's rights in the 50's.

Same with McCain. His end in more troops deal is to allow him to use the Stab in the back excuse.
