"Like most Americans, this administration wants to succeed in Iraq," the president said.
This is currently on the CNN webpage.

Only proves that HE DID NOT GET THE MESSAGE FROM THE VOTERS.

Americans want to get out mr.george.

8. So far, the only two things they've been successful at are:
a) turning a once-sovereign nation who never attacked us into a bloodbath for it's citizens and our soldiers.

b) making piles of ca$h for contractor cronies.

The football game is being lost hand over fist, however.

3. Like MOST Americans?
So who are these Americans he thinks want us to fail?

Not that this bastard has a true goal to succeed at, or the intelligence to know how to succeed, but if there was a goal that was possible and if he had the brains to achieve it then he'd have everyone's support.

Damn, what a moron. x(

10. The implication is that there are those (most of the population) who prefer failure.
Edited on Mon Dec-11-06 03:21 PM by spanone
Fuck you president boy.

This is a man in complete denial of the deterioration of the situation surrounding him. Who is feeding him this kind of bullshit?

Does he think he can ignore the will of the people?

A rhetorical question.

At what cost?
When will the cost be too high? The cost in life as well as in the dollars lost.

9. Conveniently omitted was that most Americans
also realize that success is no longer possible, and indeed, was probably never possible in the first place.

17. The fact that he has assembled a team of "advisers" to tell him
what he wants to hear about Iraq also proves the message did not get through to him. The Democratic Congress will need to deliver the message more forcefully next year to MAKE SURE it gets through his thick skull.

19. This is a true statement
Don't be flummoxed by quaint pre-9/11 linguistic frames. In the BFEE's Orwellian vision the "real" Americans are the corporate owners. And Bush not only "got the message" from them, he got his job from them too.

They're still at it - trying to foist their "reality" on the rest of us. Either that or they're just buying time. Every day that goes by for this occupation means more profits for its engineers and stockholders.

21. Most Americans... what we wanted.

Most Americans wanted to arrest Osama bin Laden and his terrorist organization, and if the then current government in Afghanistan would oppose law enforcement action on this point, then such governments would be removed from power, by force if needed.

Most Americans would have then wanted an acceleration of the Nuclear non-proliferation, especially reprocessing most of the stockpiles of cold war nuclear arsenal to non-weapons grade material, and additional safeguards including the destruction of almost all if not all biological and chemical WMD stockpiles by our own and other governments.

Most Americans would have wanted to disengage from the Middle East, leaving Israel to make peace or war with her neighbors as the case may be, but we would have hoped for peace.

Most Americans would have wanted Saddam to be removed from power, but not by us, but rather by old age or by a revolution or assassination by Iraqis. Most Americans would have hoped that a new dictator, someone like Tariq Assiz, to have taken over in Saddam's place, someone who would understand that without a dictator, Iraq would spin apart into a horrible spate of ethic and sectarian genocide... but who would also understand that real democratic reforms would be needed, and that sanctions having been lifted (no Saddam), the country's oil wealth needed to be put to use to employ young people of all religions, employ them on building a new future for Iraq, one not based on oil wealth. That western science and education coupled with Middle Eastern philosophy and values would someday provide a role model for the rest of the Muslim middle east (much like Turkey only Arab).

Most Americans would have wanted to take $300B that YOU spent on a stupid war and spend it on biofuels projects that might actually allow us to quit importing or even using oil and use biofuels instead. Brazil has almost done it, we can do it (and I have citations for the $300B getting us completely off petroleum as a fuel).

But then, MOST AMERICANS VOTED FOR AL GORE for President, not you and your neocon PNACer idiot chickenhawks.

22. Why are we supposed to think this is not a lie too? What reason do we
have to believe anything said by this admin? Snow even admitted they needed time to parse the report. Why bother with a press release? They lie all the time. They never mean what they say. They are full of bullshit. They prefer myth to reality. They have contempt for the people of their country. Why should I believe this or anything they say? I know they want to break the bond between a person and government..but that is not working. I see only this WH as a bunch of useless liars. Why to they bother with a press release or even a press room? Why bother with a press secretary? Why bother to say anything at all?

His astounding stubborness is costing the GOP big time....Why they are not gathering their spines to pull Bush off the Helm is a picture of their Wimpyness, their weakness, and their poor judgement.

compounded by stubborness and Delusion far beyond our comprehension that guides his Ignorant and immature mind.
