Latest GOP polling according to CNN. A closeted gay crook and a pandering ass-kisser with more flip flops than Ron Jons surf shop. The job of Hillary or Obama or whomever just got a whole lot easier!

3. Don't underestimate either one of them
If Republicans can make a drug-using, awol/deserter son of an aristocratic New England family look like a down-to-earth Christian Texas cowboy who you'd like to have a beer with - they can make Rudy or McCain seem like the 2nd Coming.

Giuliani has good appeal to moderates, and was endorsed by Pat Robertson. And, for some reason, a lot of those social conservatives in the Midwest love him, too, despite the issues with his personal life.

7. Agree. Together those guys will be tough to beat. Even alone. The media
loves those two.

4. I still think it's going to be Hagel
In spite of the aroma surrounding his original "election", he's going to sound pretty sane next to the Iraq War cheerleaders.

5. I don't think the GOP is sane enough to nominate Hagel
and if they did we would be in a real fight--he could win.

6. Hagel thinks Nelson of NE votes like Kennedy.
Does that sound sane to you?

8. Don't sell those bastards short. The corporate media will fawn all over them...
We'll hear over and over and over again about Guiliani's "great leadership as exhibited during and after 9/11" and McCain's "maverick, no-nonsense" ways.

As long as these two compromise themselves adequately to carry water for the corporate establishment, and they are already doing so, they will have the backing of the mainstream media.

And that will make them (or any other right-wing candidate) formidable.
:grr:
