Even Tweety is starting to get the message
After searching all night for a guest who would agree with him and go ga-ga over Bush and his great, glorious speech, as he checked out for his 12:30 break, Mr. Matthews was finally starting to sound as if it might be sinking in...Bush is in trouble. The speech didn't cut it, and is being taken for just so much more repetitive bullshit. A point well-made nearly 20 minutes earlier by Tucker Carlson was that it simply isn't our job (the U.S.'s) to take down tyrannies around the world. Would you send your son or daughter to die so that some muslim could vote for a religious government?

The point is hitting home...is it really any of our business? Bush has essentially given up all pretense of WMD in Iraq, and now boldly says "too bad about the WMD, but it is our job to spread democracy!" but the virtually every republican I've seen on teevee tonight seem to be calling bullshit on it.

This could actually turn out to be a watershed speech for Bush, and America.

2. CNN was hammering * on hardly a mention of NO
Anderson Cooper said it was barely a footnote in the speech.

3. MSNBC also said it was a major f*ck up, and...
...probably one of the biggest things people will notice. "A major U.S. city gets wiped off the map, and the president doesn't have a word to say about it!" They seemed pretty dumbfounded, too.

Good to hear junior is still fuckin' everything up!

chris "kneepads" matthews was pretty much a nauseating love-fest. He's actually poking holes in the speech now? Glad to know it's not wall-to-wall gushing...

My pithy-ism for 2006. Forceful, cynical and true.

the Koolaide supply. And thank goodness for that! When I heard the initial response from the ABC talking heads ("He's held an olive branch to the Dems numerous times in the speech"), I thought, WTF? What the hell speech did THEY watch?

7. They are so sickening!
They never seem to be watching what we are...spin, spin, spin. Next time I watch their commentary, I'll do a load of laundry at the same time.

It's Tweety and Tucker and Buchanan and some nice dem lady.

They don't seem to be finding anything good about the speech though, that's a plus.

16. He sounds like that every so often.
It doesn't mean anything. It's just his normal Tweetiness. Really, he's been playing that game for years.
