Children's Book Makes Fun of Liberals
Hillary Clinton as Scrooge?

That’s the basic idea behind a new children’s book that portrays liberals as the enemy.

Help! Mom! The 9th Circuit Nabbed the Nativity! by Katharine DeBrecht shows Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, and Ted Kennedy trying to stop a school Christmas pageant. Hillary Clinton is given the “comic” alias of "Hillary Clunkton." Al Gore is "Al Bore."

“Backed by nattering judges from the Ninth Circuit, the villainous 'Hillary Clunkton' absconds with the crèche while 'Al Bore' blows out the school's Menorah,” says a press release. “But the liberals' plan to replace Christmas with a generic 'non-offensive' holiday falls short when a hero resembling Clarence Thomas arrives bearing a copy of the Constitution.”

DeBrecht, the author of the Barnes&Noble.com #1 bestseller Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed! and Help! Mom! Hollywood's In My Hamper!, says she expects a negative reaction from liberals to her new Christmas title, but defends her book nonetheless.

"Extreme left-wing liberals hate Christmas and want it out of our schools because of the moral values it symbolizes," says DeBrecht in the press release. "Christmas is about mankind's spiritual relationship with God. But the far left doesn't feel a need to celebrate the birth of Jesus since it believes that there's no problem that can't be fixed by the welfare state. That's why leftists have waged a decades-long war to banish Christmas from our classrooms."

2. Joseph Goebbels Would Be Proud .....
Edited on Tue Dec-12-06 08:05 AM by kevinmc
Joseph Goebbels was the Minister for Public Enlightenment & Propaganda in Nazi Germany and played a large role in creating new anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi material for the party. He was incharge of a propaganda machine which reached right down to branch level. In this way information and instructions could be sent out from party headquarters and adapted to local circumstances.

3. Stupid Sells
Stupid sells. What can I say? Look in any bookstore at the social science or political section. Look at all the crap from Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, Boortz, Limbaugh (David), etc. Or go to Townhall.com and check out all the dozens of "columnists" who are all selling books. But the R-wingers have plenty of disposable income because they don't pay taxes or donate to charity, so they have money to buy this junk. Then they'll repeat it like the robots they are and delude themselves into thinking they're articulate and intelligent people.

And anyone can be a R-wing columnist. Follow these steps: A) Listen to Rush the day before and take notes; B) Listen to White House briefing and take notes; C) Re-write notes from A and B so they sound like they are original ideas; D) Cash checks from willing dunces who lap it up. If, by chance, Rush was not on for some reason, then simply write a column bashing Clinton or decrying the "war" on Christmas.

22. Well, RW books sell for five main reasons
One, RWers need a daddy, and they need a clear hierarchy. Its how their brains are wired. They have to outrank some group, and some group has to outrank them. Therefore, they know clearly who they are better than, and who is better than they are. And once they find those that outrank them, they worship them without question. After all, they are simply cogs in the machine. Really, its quite simple to keep people who think this way complacent. Just tell them that they too, someday, can join the ranks of those above them if they work hard and are loyal to their masters. And remind them, constantly, that there are always people below them. As long as a RWer knows he is better than someone else, he is happy. So, clearly, RW books serve this purpose.

Two, RWers absolutely need to be told what they think. They cannot form their own opinions. Even those who may seem rational and reasoned and logical and intelligent are not actually thinking on any sophisticated level. Their thoughts may have been formed on their own, and they may have reached their own conclusions, but only because of lies that are perpetuated by the RW and spread among various media outlets, especially RW books. Moreover, RWers are on a quest for "knowledge" and because of their massive egos like to consider themselves intelligent and well-informed. So what do they do? They buy RW books and unquestioningly accept every word as literal fact. This is why you will rarely see footnotes, or if footnotes do exist they only reference other questionable RW sources.

Third, RWers buy books because they are, quite simply, pathetic, hero-worshiping sycophants. We are talking about a group of people who idolize anchor baby Michelle Malkin, sex-offender Bill OReiley and drug-abuser Rush Limbaugh. If you've ever spent even two minutes listening to RW talk radio, you would know how far these people take their worship of these figures. So, naturally, the second a RW host or pundit's book comes out, they have to have it.

Fourth, RW views need constant reinforcement, usually because they are so extreme and so disgusting that if RWers didn't hear them constantly repeated on an almost daily basis, they might begin to question their racist and xenophobic views. For example, in this society, racism has become something that is barely tolerated anymore. Granted, it still exists, but on many occasions I have seen people scold and embarrass complete strangers for expressing racist sentiments. But people like Rush Limbaugh spin racism to a more acceptable form, and reminds listeners that their views are ok. "I don't hate all blacks, just the bad ones", for example.

Fifth, of course, and the most common reason, is bulk buying. Ever notice that websites like NewsMax and Drudge are always offering ways to get RW books for free, and that RW book clubs will sell you RW books for a penny as a promo? That's because when the book was released, arrangements had already been made for several organizations to buy the books by the caseload. Not only does this give them something to use to promote themselves, but more importantly it makes sure the book is a best seller.

25. Nice Analysis
Great analysis! Especially the part about the media outlets buying the books in bulk. I've always wondered how such useless books can still top the NY Times bestseller list. You've answered the question! Thanks.

I also like your point about the star worship. I've got a relative who ADORES Rush. I mean, listens to his show every single evening while at home on her computer. Family be damned. She will not miss her Rush. And she spews out every little joke he makes or funny/sarcastic name he calls someone, e.g., Dan Blather or Quesy n' Fuming. It is so obviosu she just worships the guy just like some people love Oprah or Tom Cruise. It's not substance at all; it's a feeling of belonging and of having someone to worship.

You've got to be taught
To be Afraid

13. I heard her interviewed on the radio once
It was on San Diego's AAR affiliate, by some local hosts (I forget the names), and they mocked her pretty well. She is EVERY bit the idiot you would think she is. They nailed her on her support of the Iraq war when she dodged the question REPEATEDLY about whether she would ever send her sons off to fight when they come of age. Apparently, fighting the terra-ists is for other people's kids.

This secular, far-left liberal loves Christmas. She's a dumb fucking shitstain.

AAR should build around Thom Hartmann. He's the most informed and best host they have.

Franken should just leave radio once and for all instead of leaving everyone hanging. He's become more of a distraction than a talk show host.

Remember, Beck blasted "Happy Feet", accusing it of brainwashing children on issues such as (egads!) global warming.

And O'Reilly trashed that YouTube kid who dissed him, saying that the child should be taken away from his parents. So goes the philosophy of those 'small government' conservatives.

because truth be told, liberals (imho) want everyone to be able to celebrate as they please. These conservative folks just don't want to share their holiday with anyone else. Therefore if questioned about including, or at least thinking about, minorities and other cultures they get crazy. There is no way any self respecting liberal is in favor (generally speaking of course) of CURBING these types of things. We want MORE of them, not less.............. :)

This is one of those "children's books" that right-wing adults buy for themselves. You know, like Lynne Cheney's "America: A Patriotic Primer." (In its defense, Lynne Cheney's books--there's a new one--are beautifully illustrated and not written at the reading level of a Free Republic post, unlike Katherine DeBrecht's.)

We liberals have books like that too...anyone want to help me illustrate "The Adventures of Clinton's Penis: A Children's Book Children Really Shouldn't Read"?
