My brother is home from Iraq!!!!
Home from two tours of duty and out of the military for good!

Today was the first day in a long time that I woke up not worried about whether or not he was alive. I won't see him until after Christmas and I know I'm going to burst into tears when I do, but until then...

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

His wife has about 9 months left on her tour (could you imagine having to leave your wife behind in that hellhole?!) Hopefully, they won't call her for a second tour.

3. I'm very happy for you!
Thank your son for his service. Let him know that even though I didn't support the war, I worried about him as if he were my brother in Vietnam. I grew up worrying like that about my brother. As I worry about all of them and the Iraqi people too.

Peace!

5. Great news for your brother. Positive thoughts for your sister-in-law.
We had a similar experience with a Marine going on two tours. It has this nasty habit of dominating your thoughts.... Glad he's safe.

21. I thought about him everyday
Just recently, several men from Fort Hood were killed (that's where he's from). I was so worried it was him. Turns out, my brother missed that patrol because he had visited his wife. When he got back, he was first on-scene and had to retrieve the bodies (all men he knew). He said that was his worst day there.

I'm so glad to hear he's back safe and sound. It must be tough for him to leave his wife there though. I'll be thinking about her and hoping for her safe return as well.
