What the fuck is a "Listening Tour" mr. bush?
http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=2717044&page=1

WASHINGTON, Dec. 11, 2006 — After the Iraq Study Group presented President Bush with its report last week, he dropped some obvious hints that he would not accept all the advice the Baker-Hamilton commission had to offer.

His solution: Go out and gather some other advice, a whole lot of advice.

He began Monday morning at the State Department, where top officials gave the president their views. Bush later said "that advice is an important part, an important component of putting together a new way forward in Iraq."

----------------

I am so SO tired of these little publicity mind games that mean NOTHING but stalling the inevitable. Listening tour? YOU SHOULD FUCKING LISTEN MR. bush, not us.

1. Well he has to listen until someone tells him what he wants to hear
And then he can stop.

Might take a while, this round.

if he was only following advice.

He should ask God again, who has served him so faithfully in the past.

5. What I don't understand
is the Iraq Study Group was to think of everything. Why NOW is he going around asking others for their opinions? Didn't they already express their opinions to the ISG?

WTF!?!?!? Bait and switch...

9. Nobody here but us focus groups, Mr. Bush
You didn't listen to us before; why would we think you'll listen to us now? We had millions of people marching in the streets in late 2002 and early 2003, and you didn't listen. Why would you listen to dozens of us, even if we were shouting the truth in your monkey face?

I don't know who you think you're fooling anymore, Mr. Bush. Well, the folks at ABC News, but big whoop. Three-quarters of the population just isn't buying what you're selling.

16. A "listening tour" is a desperate attempt to show that your head is not irrecoverably up your ass
by saying: "Hehe (obligatory insane Bush chuckle) - I'm open to opinions 'n' stuff. Shucks!"

Tell him something, just make sure it is positive feedback. He will just ignore anything else. No wonder our country is such a pit right now! We have a warlord running the country. Ugh!

18. This illuminates the size of the bubble the boy's in, that just NOW he's getting info on Iraq
that after all this time, he's getting some straight advice.

The picture this paints is just so, so.... horrifying really. What the fuck have his advisors, generals, SOS, NSC etc been telling him all this time if he's just NOW getting a "listening tour".

I've always been disgusted by the way this Admin has approached this whole debacle but this is just mind-blowingly despicable.

19. Todays "Tour" .....
begins with a 'TELECONFERENCE' from Blivets easy chair in the Oval Office, with Dick Cheney and some other 'who's it's' ..... All of this listening B.S. aside .... isn't a tour supposed to denote ..... Going Somewhere? As in 'touring' .... movement, get out to some predetermined destinations? And furthermore the word 'tour' to me just seems like some sort of 'la-de-da kill some time kinda thing to do' or should just be relegated to Rock Concerts. Just my 2 cents. Peace.

The man is so full of shit, that there is NO HOPE of ever, getting a truthful answer out of him.

Bush is doing the run, dodge and jump. The Generals must have told him about it.

23. fool us once...
I think the whole point of this PR stunt is that Rove knows that Bush is going to ignore the ISG report, and this will piss off the public. So he sends Bush on a bogus 'listening tour' to try to persuade us that he actually IS listening to all opinions - although then he'll go ahead with the dangerous and deadly 'stay the course' plan that he's stated before won't change until the next president takes office.

Like everything else this White House does, it's all a sham and a fake to try to shape the image of this nitwit.

24. It's something TOTALLY NEW for Bush: Listening
He's read about it (or, more properly, had it read to him) and he thinks he'll give it a go. Just this once.

But he has a sneaking suspicion that it might tax his mind a bit much.
