Creation museum pushes 'true history'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6216788.stm

A new high-tech temple to fundamentalist Christianity is due to open in heart of Middle America next May, aiming to provide the grandest riposte yet to Darwinian evolutionary theory...

...The museum's aim is to bring Genesis - the first book of the Bible - to life for all ages, and promote the belief that the Earth is less than 10,000 years old.

Everybody who works at the museum has to sign on to the belief that the living Earth was created in six 24-hour days - rejecting the convention most scientists view as fact, that life evolved slowly over millions of years.

To hammer that point home, two smiling children clad in tasteful animal skins, work and play alongside a pair of baby Tyrannosaurus Rex...

1. Don't they even know how stupid they sound?
As if kids grew up and played with giant lizards that had 3 foot long fangs designed to kill things 5 times their size...!

11. Those fangs were just for eating wood
When the T rexes were feeling particularly helpful, they'd use them to chop up logs for the nice humans ...

3. $27 million to tell people the earth is less than 10,000 years old?

They're wasting their money. For two reasons:

1 - It makes them look stupid. Very stupid.

2 - They're preaching to the choir at this point.

5. impossible
"the living Earth was created in six 24-hour days"

The length of a day could not be determined until after the Earth and Sun had already been created and the Earth started to spin.

7. These sad attempts to promote their beliefs in a very
sophisticated world are like the death throes of the last dinosaur; vain attempts to avoid what is to be their final extinction.

I am of a spiritual bent, but the fairy tales promoted by the Bible are good for children and uneducated folk, but are so easily seen through by those who know the true story of our world and the natural processes behind its existence. I learned, early on, that the Bible was written for an uneducated nomadic people with a very limited understanding of science. It is all parable; simple explanations for a simple people.

The foolishness perpetrated on modern man is the result of a religion that did not grow with its followers. This being said, the religion will HAVE to grow and evolve in order to survive. Meanwhile, we will see more of these sad attempts to prove relevancy where no relevancy can exist.

12. The saddest darkest corner of any science fair...
... is the place where they dump the creationist-inspired "science" fair projects.

I can't imagine how any parent could allow or force their children to do this. For kids who are not entirely brainwashed it's got to be an utterly humiliating experience.
