Glad to see his priorities haven't changed.

Edit: 24 parties, not 22.

You took the words out of my mouth.
Repulsive beyond measure. 'I' don't sleep at night for God's sake.
Something seriously wrong. And scary.
I will celebrate Christmas the most quietly I have ever and will be in personal mourning until things are rectified and justice has come.

But yeah, I see your point about his priorities.

I get the impression that that he is at least dimly aware that a lot of people aren't happy with the job he's doing (and I use the word "doing" loosely), he probably spends some of his vast amount of free time wondering why.

that he doesn't read papers, doesn't care about history, doesn't read polls, etc., I think President Corky has got to be aware by now that he is quite seriously in contention for the title of worst president ever. And, as a former frat boy, the notion of not being popular must eat at him.

21. ??
So you're saying that Bush, as President, shouldn't attend Christmas parties but it's okay for other elected officials to "waste" time in this manner? Senators and Congressmen held to a different standard? All just politicians wasting (or begging for) tax dollars.

They're all elected officials (regardless the questionable outcomes of some of those elections).

Sorry, I'm just jaded and find very little difference in the actions of Republican and Democratic politicians these days. Don't confuse that with not finding difference between Democrats and Republicans who are not politicians.

23. I think you're missing my point
I'm saying that both parties actions should be held accountable. If you're going to hang Gdubs out to dry for attending Christmas parties, then the same hanging should be applied to Democrats who do the same thing. They may not carry the burden for getting us involved in Iraq, but as elect officials they should be doing whatever they can to get us out, and if that means a little less egg nog for them this year, tough titty.

(and regardless of when the swearing in for newly elected politicians is happening, there are currently Democrats in office, even if it's hard to tell sometimes).

68. The point is that Bush is the one who's supposed to be deciding
what to do in this urgent situation. People die every day, as I'm sure you know. Whether he's going to make a decision that will save some people their lives is beside the point: the point is that, as president, he's the only one with the power to save those lives. The Democrats currently in power don't have it; the Democrats to be sworn in in January obviously don't have it. Bush has it, and, having had all the meetings and reports he needs to make a decision, has abdicated his responsibility, apparently in favour of parties.

So it makes no sense to equate him with Democrats who themselves may or may not be going to parties.

84. And furthermore
Chimpy waited 8 months for his study group to sort out the mess in Iraq. Now that he has their report, he starts his own research. The situation is critical, and demands immediate action. But he can't get around to it, because he has to traipse around Washington getting other people's opinions; again, he handed the problem over to the study group, then waited EIGHT MONTHS for the recommendations. Now he is doing his own research.

Not to mention the parties.

He's "The Decider." Nancy Pelosi hasn't wasted the last eight months, and I'll bet she and a lot of Dems are working steadily through the recess. Whether she or any other Dem goes to a Party will not mean another day of death in Iraq. But more people die every day that "The Decider" spends celebrating or hungover.

Are you getting it yet?

IMO, it doesn't matter what the "other guy" is doing. I expect the President to behave like a statesman. I expect him to follow the RULE OF LAW. I expect him to put the needs of this country in front of his utter and complete ego maniacal bullshit. Enough said.

I would say that in terms of Iraq, being the commander in chief and the unitary executive, like he wanted, makes HIM the defacto "decider", not the democrats.

I think if you want to defend his right to part-ay, ok. but you appear to want to defend him and detract from democrats. May I humbly suggest you double-check what website you're on at the moment.

Wonder how the Arabs or the Chinese or the Irish would say those things.

They have some of the best curses in the world!

Some of them are at this link:

Insults ~ Oaths ~ Curses ~ Putdowns
When Something More Than **** Off You **** Is Needed

http://englishatheist.org/index3.shtml

You also have your chance to use the automatic curse maker! Try it! You'll like it!

How about these for the next person who bugs you -- and that could be the pResident:

A sharp tongue does not mean that you have a sharp mind.

Are you always this stupid or are you making a special effort today?

Brains aren't everything, in fact in your case they're nothing.

Don't let your mind wander - it's far too little to be let out on its own.

He always finds himself lost in thought -it's an unfamiliar territory.

He doesn't know the meaning of the word 'fear'... but then again he doesn't know the meaning of most words.

I don't know what makes you so dumb, but it really works!

I don't think you are a fool. But what's my opinion compared to that of thousands of others?

I know you are nobody's fool, but maybe somebody will adopt you.

I would ask you how old you are, but I reckon you can't count that high.

I would have liked to insult you, but the sad truth is that you wouldn't understand me.

If what you don't know can't hurt you, you're practically invulnerable.

If you were twice as smart as you are now, you'd still be absolutely stupid.

I'm glad to see you're not letting your education get in the way of your ignorance.

She has reached rock bottom and shows signs of starting to dig.

Sit down, give your mind a rest - it obviously needs it.

Some drink from the fountain of knowledge, but it looks like this guy just gargled.

What you is lacking in intelligence, you more than makes up for in stupidity. (Dialect accounts for misspellings.)

Whom am I calling 'stupid'? Good question. I don't know. What is your name?

Thanks for that! Reading the OP made my blood boil; I would have been pissed off enough if it was, say, ten parties. But THIS is ridiculous. The contrast between that, the people who still suffer from Katrina, and the soldiers being shipped to Iraq is astounding!

I got a real laugh out of this post -- I mean, I think I will think about this later today and break out in laughter.

So I take it you are not too fond of Mr. Dumbass?

As for the Idiot in Chiefs party calendar -- errr, fuck him. I wish he would go to a few funerals and visit some poor bastard who lost his arms and legs ... And he wants to send more troops.

What a moron.

He needs to see what he had done, up close and personal. Maybe if he was forced to attend a few hundred, he'd finally wake the fuck up and end this madness! :grr:

But like his hideous mother, why should he waste his beautiful mind on such realities as fallen troops or body bags or funerals, when there are parties to attend instead? Party on george! You filth! :puke:

Can't be seen wearing the same dress twice in a season I'm guessing...

:grr:

Wouldn't want that money to go towards any soldiers' families - they can "feast" their eyes on her gowns for solace, vicariously celebrating the season by watching their CIC party on. Can't have him working hard at that "listening tour" trying to figure out a way to get them outta that clusterfuck called Iraq.... Nope, tis the season and all, must fundraise, it's just so much more important than actually, you know, caring.

I seem to recall when he went to Ford's Theatre that fateful night it was because he hadn't been out much during the war but now that the war was over thought it might be the thing to do, show himself around and prove that the nation was getting back on her feet.

The guy should just resign and then he can attend all the parties he wants to (until he is arrested and dragged to the Hague for his warcrimes trial).

Honestly people I can understand why you are upset about this because this would be outrageous if he were a decent President, but he is NOT a decent President and we do NOT want him to attempt to do his job. Everytime he tries to do something the results are horrible, we need to find more parties for him to go to so that he doesn't have time to do anything else. Trust me you do not want to see what Bush would do if he were not at these parties because it would not be pretty.

After his last plan on Iraq do you really want him to be the one to come up with a new plan?

74. It is generally considered to be in poor taste to attend more than extremely small
affairs when one is in mourning, and only then when it is "unavoidable," such as a family Xmas gathering, Thanksgiving dinner, a baptism, a wedding (minus reception).

It just appears that he doesn't care. In reality, the golfing and campaigning and biking and Xmasing are all a mask == he has to put on a brave front...like Scarlett after Charlie Hamilton's death at the charity ball -- it's for the morale of the country, don't you see?

Fuck no! He don't give a shit about anything but money and his own sorry coked up ass. He's a nonentity with all the power in the world. The supreme irony. The living proof of the Peter Principle.

I wish everyone in the room at those parties just turned their backs on him and ignored him completely when he made his entrances. Pickles, too.

Or should I go to some Christmas parties and have my picture taken in front of nativity scenes for some periodic maintenance of my brainless base?
