2. Conservatives want to spy on their own people and wiretap them without warrents.

3. Conservatives give tax cuts to the top .001% of America, the ones who need it the least.

4. Conservatives completely disregard science.

5. Conservatives think everyone who doesn't agree with president Bush must be a liberal.

6. Conservatives think that other countries hate us for our freedom, when we are having our freedom taken away by conservatives.

6. No, considering people who differ

...from your point of view as suffering from a mental disorder, is probably a mental disorder. Most of my friends are Democrats, but I have many who are Republican. With a few exceptions, they're not crazy. In some cases, I would say they are misguided or misinformed. And in other cases, they have a value hierarchy that differs from mine. Most of them agree with science. I just think we've gotten away from the hallmarks of liberalism which are understanding, tolerance, and compassion. You might consider 40% of the country to have a mental disorder but I don't believe it. I've noticed a rise in incivility amongst people over political matters; and unless we do something about it, it will just worsen.

I can never visualize myself being conservative, but true conservatism is an ideology with its own merits (like most). The Bushies are not real conservatives-this is a cabal of thugs, loons and criminals. I would hesitate to call them conservatives.
