Ever notice how much Condi shakes her head in the classic "no" body language when she's |
|
spouting b.s.?
I just watched the opening segment of PBS' News Hour which included a clip of Condi speaking some nonsense about bush* seeking out the best advice about Iraq from many sources. The entire time she was speaking, her head was emphatically waggling sideways, back and forth. I've noticed this many times over the years -- it's just weird.
Were I a psychoanalyst, I would say she has some heavy cognitive dissonance issues -- like, a real disconnect between her words and what she really knows to be true.
Anyone else ever notice this?

1. Yes. It's disconcerting because her body language conflicts with her words. |

Bet Rice is not much of a poker player. Her infantile movements just don't fool many fair observers.

4. Yes, I noticed that years ago |

There are certain body language tell-tales, and shaking your head "no" while knowingly telling a lie is one of them.
Increased rate of eye blinking is another.
She does both when lying.

7. What I find fascinating is that she does this ALL the time. |
|
Ergo, she's lying ALL the time. How is that so much of the country just ignores these "tells"?

8. What bothers me is the tentative way in which she speaks |
|
not just cadence but the very timbre of her voice -- she sounds like a frightened little girl, even as she talks tough to other world leaders. What kind of mixed signal does that give to the world?

15. Agreed. I always feel uncomfortable when I hear her voice. Not just because I can't stand her but |
|
because of her shaky over-cautious superfical-sounding delivery. And notice she never says anything that sounds even remotely from the heart, ever.

13. What gets me is that NO ONE will EVER bring this up in the mainstream press. |
|
It's so OBVIOUS. And we can't be the only ones who have noticed this over the years. But everyone will keep on pretending that there's nothing to see there.
What an utterly crazy-making system we live in...

11. I have noticed several times that Bush has the same habit. He |
|
will be making a positive statement, but the whole time he is shaking his head "no". It does signify that the speaker is telling an untruth.

16. She's ALWAYS spouting BS... |
|
...but not always doing the headshake. But perhaps there's a correlation between the tic and her most out-of-the-park lies?
