Aside from Happy Birthday! What is the GOOGLE SCREAM trying to Tell Us?
Went to do a "Google Search" and this is what came up... I though it was some attack that took over Google because Bush is delaying his Iraq Report until after the Holiday Parties...

But no......it's Edward Munch's Birthday! and this is what Google is doing to celebrate it... I give them credit...but do you think Google was sending a subliminal message disguised as a B-Day Greeting?

http://www.google.com/search?q=edvard+munch

Happy Birthday Edvard Munch!

1. Wow, Munch and Beethoven only separated by 3 days -- cool
Two of my favorite artists.

6. Actually, Beethoven was born on the 16--which makes it 4 days
And I know this how??? Bcuz it's MY b'day as well.

I'm proud to share it with Ludwig, Jane (Austen) and Noel (Coward). Also Benny from ABBA--so what the hell happened to my creative talent????

7. Wow -- I sit corrected; I always thought it was Dec. 15 but glad to know
it's the 16th. Congrats on having good birthday mates ... Mine are Donald "You're Fired" Trump (ICK!) and Boy "Trash Detail" George (oh geez). Oh yeah, and Burl "Have A Holly Jolly Christmas" Ives (at least he won an Oscar!).

18. Surprisingly, yes, but I must have missed when Schroeder
obviously celebrated his idol's B-day. I just remember a teacher in 5th grade having us celebrate Beethoven's birthday on Dec. 15 one year -- HE WARPED MY LITTLE MIND!!!

21. Well, it could be a lot worse!
...My BFF shares her Big Day with none other than Chimpy himself! She was actually born on his 10th birthday, July 6 1956.

I no longer send her b'day cards. Only sympathy cards.

2. Since the figure represents the "OO" in the Google in the bacground
I suspect celebrating Munch's birthday is the only idea. The "Google" in the background is a nice touch, though.

It's creepy and cool at the same time - I've always liked it. :D

I love the "Scream-ified" Google logo, too! :toast:

5. No - The Scream is Munch's most recognizable work
Hence its (over)use nearly everywhere...

9. I know...but I hit Google for a search and saw the SCREAM and it was a
SHOCKER...It wasn't until I highlighted it that I realized they were honoring Munch. :D Most folks probably found it coming up on "basic Google" a startle!

16. It is believed that the fiery skies shown in the painting
were not just part of his imagination, but were the brilliant skies created by airborne debris that covered the globe after the huge eruption/explosion of Krakatoa. He painted it right arond that time. Interesting factoid.

17. No subliminal message...
Google regularly does something like this with their logo.

Past birthdays commemorated on Google:

Monet

M.C. Escher

Michelangelo

Vincent van Gogh

Leonardo da Vinci

Frank Lloyd Wright
