Look at these Bush poll numbers for early Dec. I just don't believe this.
LA Times 42%

ABC 36%

CBS 31%

USA Today 38%

Pew 32%

Newsweek 32%

CNN 37%

Fox 38%

AP-Ipsos 33%

What is this all about? Are all the "But he's got spine" people out there voting for this maniac?

1. believe it or not, a lot of people don't live for politics...
it's the thanksgiving/christmas season, they're feeling good, and content- a pollster calls up, and they're feeling charitable, & willing to give the boy king the benefit of the doubt.

3. Wow, the wide spread
seems to say these are inaccurate numbers. After all they're supposed to be measuring the same thing.

5. It's because he sounded concilliatory for a short while.
He sounded like he wanted to work with Pelosi and find common ground. People like bipartisanship, and some people thought maybe Bush was learning his lesson. Over the last couple of days his true self has re-emerged. When he has to work with Congress, his numbers will fall again.

It's funny, though. We are complaining about how high his approval rating is, when the highest number there is 42%, and the average is in the mid 30s. He's not popular, no matter how you slice it.
