I think Bush is waiting until after Christmas because he's gonna go nuclear next.
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 09:31 AM by cyberpj
I just posted this within a thread but thought it deserved some consideration on it's own:

We know he's not going to follow the ISG. We've heard he's leaning toward McCain's suggestion of more troops "for a while". We know he doesn't care about anything but "victory". And we know that he doesn't care what anyone says now because he thinks history will prove him right.

I think he's going to bomb the shit out of the place believing that will scare them enough into submission (like Japan), and then whoever's left will accept us as saviors when we pour more billions into rebuilding their nation. It's more than clear that he couldn't care less about the body count and the evidence of depleted uranium is already all over the place so I'm thinking he's thinking what the hell.

And a good Christian president could never do such a thing during Christmas!

I say the man is completely mad and we'd better be prepared for nukes as his last "move forward".

And don't think for a second that he'll bother asking for permission, either.

God help us all if I'm right.

1. The 'good christians' among the Air Force brass worry the shit outta me.
Some of them seem to really WANT another Crusade and the Air Force could start some pretty big wars from way up in the air. Wars that other branches would have to fight on the ground, afterward. But wars the corporatists would profit from for generations. (And those come to Jesus Generals can look forward to profitable careers after retiring from the military; those corportists pay their flunkies well for selling out the best interests of America.)

17. I agree.
For many, it goes unsaid but, this is a religious crusade.

And aside from wanting dibs on the oil, you're so right when you remind us that the corporatists are making hugs amounts of money on this war. And once you've starting snorting greed, there's just never enough.

2. Bombing requires targets. I'm not sure a large number of targets
really exists for strategic bombing of the insurgency. What do you think he'll target?

5. For this plan to work it would have to be Iran I would think?
Not that this plan will work - but you are right, it's not like they have big compounds that are bombable.

I suppose he could just blow the hell out of Fallujah.

BTW, we already use nukes in the Middle East, if you count depleted uranium, which I do. So what's the big barrier for him? The generals will say they're only small tactical nukes, just a small step up from a daisy cutter, and Shrubby will say Cool--do they make an ex plo sion? hehehehe drool heheh

and then we'll be sure to see he was right all along and his dad was wrong.

as a mosquito is to a hand grenade.

Bush is anything but rational. Your comment is pretty judgmental.

15. I am calm. Just making an observation of our spoiled brat in chief and
how he has no limits when it comes to getting his way. And that he doesn't care who disagrees with him, ever.

And it's not that ridiculous when you remember they're already using depleted uranium. I'm sure he'd love to use a few of those bunker busters and mini-nukes they've been stockpiling since he's been in office.

Of course, there would be some MIHOP instigation first to make it seem like retribution.

16. hell no, that is just plain stupid
That defies all logic.

How would his contractor buddies make money if we nuke the place?

Do you think the Saudis would like their Sunni brothers nuked??

That could also prompt Iran to actually shut down the Gulf and that affects places like Dubai.

There is NO WAY IN HELL HE WOULD DO THAT.

18. not that he's ever done anything stupid before, right?
His contractor buddies would do all the rebuilding.

The Saudis left in a huff yesterday, did you hear?

If Iran reacts, then we have good reason to go after them, too.

Look - I'm not PROPOSING it! I'm just thinking out loud among my friends here.

19. You could be right, but I hope not.
I do think that the timing is important to them, and after the holidays would be better, cause it would really be a major bummer if all holy hell broke loose before all the peace on earth crap.
