The world is waiting for America to do something about bush & cheney |
|
And I'm afraid if we don't soon do SOMETHING, ANYTHING to stop these maniacs, the world will.

Then their various waiters and waitresses will be rude to us when we visit.

9. I read in a Toronto paper |
|
a letter from a Canadian family who live in the United States and who travelled to Canada to visit relatives. They kept getting the finger from other motorists and then finally figured out it was their American plates. They thought this was TERRIBLY rude and protested that Canadians should be more tolerant. Well I am of two minds. I think what Bush and Cheney are doing affects all of us and when I see an SUV from United States here in cottage country (where a goodly number of Americans have cottages) and there is a 'SUPPORT OUR TROOPS' thingee on the car I feel HOSTILE!!!!!! I wanna say, "Hey, what about those 665,000 dead Iraqis? Is it okay to support Iraqis too? Didn't you go in there to free them? Well they're free now. GET OUT!!!!" As for doing something about Dick and Bushie I guess we could march in there with a few hundred First Nations people and burn down the White House again --- like we did in 1812. Would that help? But we don't approve of capital punishment or torture so we would have to put your leaders in jail and treat them humanely. Would that be okay?

And the coming transition of the oil market from dollars to euros won't help America's economy either.

5. I think TPTB are trying to figure out who to appoint as VP once * is |

out and Dick becomes Prez. Yes, I think it's that serious, and Poppy and Co. finally know it.
On edit: I suppose this is more likely: Darth steps down for health reasons, another VP appointed, and some adult with major skills in crisis management starts talking into Shrub's earpiece. And they'll have to do this pretending nothing is really "wrong" and hope most Murkins don't freak out over the musical chairs.

Like Stephen Harper is going -- going ---gone for supporting having our troops in Afghanistan. Like Michael Ignatieff was toast for writing about how wonderful it was America is an Empire -- considering how saintly and benevolent American foreign policy always has been -- and for beating the drums for war in Iraq and for saying a little bit of torture might be okay. MY GOD!!!! He's a professor of history and political science. He must be the only intellectual on the face of this earth who didn't read with interest and alarm the Neocon's MEIN KAMPF "Programme For A New American Century". And then he thinks he can become Liberal Leader in Canada? It is utter suicide to be linked with George W Bush in any way. Just as it is in your country. So you have to wonder is Stephen Harper (Bush clone) is totally out to lunch. But no doubt God is telling him what to do too. Another big strike against him, along with "God Bless Canada". It is political suicide to be big on religion here. Not done! Better to smoke pot and inhale.

Waiting
"As we become aware of the power of language when words fail us, when the word we need doesn't come, so too we become conscious of time when it is missing, when it flies away, when we are waiting."
from Taking Our Time by Frieda Johles Forman, ed.
and
"She can outwait them. Any woman could. Women have waited millions of years, growing seperate as another species, with visions and priorities no man-words, no man-measurements can comprehend."
from Palm Latitudes by Kate Braverman
-------------
get with it Nancy P. the time for waiting is over.

here, here!
I sit here wondering how much power Ms. Nan is willing to wield, how much she can call on from her "constituents" in the House and her colleagues in the Senate. As doom-and-gloomy as I can be at times, I remain hopeful, sometimes unwarrantedly but still hopeful.
Could Pelosi find a way to pressure Cheney out? Could Waxman begin investigations that will blackmail Snaggletooth into a "health crisis" that will necessitate his abrupt retirement?
The Senate must approve any replacement, so who would be acceptable to the Dem-controlled upper chamber? Not as a successor to an impeached boy-king -- let him have his "legacy," ugly as it will be -- but as a silent and compliant place-holder until 2009.
The novelist in me is concocting scenarios. . . . .
