Will we EVER leave Iraq?
I wonder, in six months will be still be asking when the ape might consider possibly going ahead and ending the war if we ask him real nice. I wonder if we'll be debating this very thing next Christmas? Or next election? Or beyond?

Your guess please as to how long this so called war will actually last. Will we really, actually pull out all of our troops from that region? Or will be have a military presence there forever, as in Japan and Germany and all those other far flung outposts?

Will our grandchildren be involved in this due to our failure to act? Will we ever really leave Iraq? How do you think this will all end, if ever?

I think ape will send more troops & start a Nixon-like escalation
And probably also target other middle eastern nations, as per plan.

3. Took YEARS of public pressure before we left Viet Nam. The public
will have to be very loud and insistent, and bug their Sens. and Reps. 24/7. Even then, the public, and the politicians, will be dealing with the private contractors, who want us to stay as long as possible, just for the money, of course.

5. I dont see any other choice
Stopping the sectarian violence is not in our control. When we train new Iraqi soldiers or police, half of them are just quitting and taking their guns to a militia. Its totally broken down and we cannot do anything about it.

Our soldiers can clear a neighborhood, but as soon as we leave, the trouble just restarts.

There is no viable choice except to leave and get off our dependence of oil.

7. not unless we remove Bush from office AND scrub the influence...
...of Big Oil and corporate imperialism from government, especially foreign policy. Dominance of the middle east is essential to the MIC and virtually every industry dependent upon petroleum. It is essential to U.S. big banking interests. They're all correct in one sense-- maintaining the future of U.S. world hegemony on the course it's been on for the last several decades probably does depend upon military dominance of the middle east. The real question before us is whether that is the path we want to stay on. Getting off of it will involve getting out from under the influence of a much larger and more powerful group than just the Bush administration.

the world's remaining, but dwindling, sources of vast oil reserves. USA needs permanent presence in the Middle East to accomplish this goal. Our presence there also pre-empts a Chinese presence there, which, in the long range, will become inevitable....kinda contradictory, but you know what I mean.

10. Funny thing is that it isn't We who need that oil, it is the oil companies that do
In order to continue making their obscene, record profits.

No, we have it within our power to scrap most of our oil usage within twenty years. Simply mandate that each and every vehicle is manufactured with a diesel engine, and power those vehicles with biodiesel. Michael Briggs of the University of New Hampshire has figured out that we can grow enough oil bearing algae in 15,000 square miles of ponds. This is an area one tenth the size of the Sonora Desert, and the real beauty of this plan is that most wastwater treatment plants alread use algae as a first stage wastewater treatment process. Gee, clean water and renewal clean fuel. What a combination.

clusterfuck that Shithead got us involved in, that no course of action will produce a positive outcome. The Islamic/Muslim nations will have the burden of restoring any semblance of governance and peace.
Our political philosophy is not viable in that region, and we cannot "control" events there unless we occupy Iraq as conquerors. This would destabilize the world to the point of destruction.
So, we need to leave, the sooner the better. And as a nation we will suffer the guilt of the massive amount of lives already lost, and of those still to come. We may thank BushCo for this.
So, will we leave with Chimp in office? No. He does not see reality.
