Is it legal to charge an admission fee for the swearing-in of an elected official? |
This question's been bugging me for a few days. Any feedback appreciated.

1. Unless it is illegal.... |
And I don't know of any law requiring that public officials be sworn-in publicly.

2. US Congress official inaugurations are not public. |
So I doubt it'd be illegal to charge a fee.

3. the swearing in is simply symbolic |
the real swaering in takes place in the house chamber and is public. but many choose another time to repeat the ceremony, with a bible, say, for their constituents.
