I think bush is going to pull a Nixon & escalate this sucker after Xmas.
He's going to take it all the way to the brink, probably right after Christmas or the new year. I hope I'm wrong. I wish I was more optimistic.

I think he'll send in the 40,000 troops he wants to, maybe more, and no, I don't know where he'll get them, I'm just speculating wildly.

I don't see this maniac being reasonable or 'listening' to his many insane advisers, I think he's getting ready to implement plan C or D of the project for a new totalitarian century.

I hope I'm real, real wrong.

1. If he does, I hope he takes the impersonation all the way and resigns shortly
afterward.

2. From your keyboard to God's ears!
This is all looking more and more like a movie I've seen before ... I just hope the ending is the same. (Full-armed wave and Marine One lifting off the WH lawn one last time, as Nancy P. watches on.)

4. Bush couls send a million troops, all they have to do is hide and wait the US. out... the
Bush cabal can't afford to allow to have an extra 25,000 troops just hang around.

6. The war is already a failure; "we" have already lost
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 03:41 PM by Juniperx
Bushie just doesn't want the big come to Jesus to happen until after he is gone... he doesn't want to be the one who loses this war. He will do whatever he can to extend the inevitable.

Twisted, I know. But he IS twisted. And he doesn't understand that the world already knows the war has been lost.

7. GW Bush: Zero to Hero Syndrome
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 05:28 PM by grassfed
Bush is an alcoholic who personifies the zero to hero pathology common to alcoholics. His ludicrous "War President" act is the only thing standing between him and a devil's brew of fear, pain, trauma, guilt, despair and utter hopelessness - and he knows it. He can't change course.

9. Pentagon's Plan: More US Troops in Iraq
Pentagon's Plan: More US Troops in Iraq

Boosting presence and aid, and an anti-Sadr offensive, carry risks but offer the best path to victory, military officials say.
by Julian E. Barnes

Outside the Pentagon, in other corners of government, officials are skeptical that an increase in military power will end sectarian violence. James Dobbins, a former U.S. diplomat and advisor to the Iraq Study Group, said many Iraqis believed that U.S. forces put them in danger, rather than improving security.

"The American troop presence is wildly unpopular in Iraq," Dobbins said. "Any effort to double our bet will lead to ever more catastrophic results."

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines06/1213-04.htm

Busholini will role the dice. He will send in 40K Troops into the Sunni Triangle to slaughter the Sunni Insurgency and al Sadr's Mahdi Malitia. With "ever more catastrophic results." His legacy is on the line and he will do whatever he can to save that. He is in Victory by any means mode.

11. I've been thinking exactly the same thing.
As soon as it became clear that he was going to ignore the ISG Report, I started thinking that he's going to escalate.

The Idiot In Chief obviously wasn't paying attention to Vietnam.
