Former Teacher Charged With Sexually Assaulting Students

HOUSTON -- A former elementary school teacher and her husband confessed to sexually assaulting students, police told KPRC Local 2 Wednesday.

Brandy Gonzales, 27, worked at Piney Point Elementary from December 2001 until July 2004. Investigators said that she confessed to assaulting five fifth-grade boys in the spring of 2004. Some of the attacks happened on the campus, located at 8921 Pagewood, officials said. Gonzales' husband, Johnny Gonzales, 34, admitted to one count of sexually assaulting a student.

Brandy Gonzales taught at several other schools, including Parker Elementary in HISD from 1998 until 2000, Park Place Elementary in HISD from August 2004 until August 2005 and Clear Lake Christian School from August 2005 until May 2006.

Brandy Gonzales is jailed on a $400,000 bond. Johnny Gonzales is jailed on a $200,000 bond.
Police did not release details of the assaults but want any students that may have had inappropriate contact with Brandy or Johnny Gonzales to contact investigators at 713-731-5356.
