Mathews is calling out rw shill who used Obama's middle name
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 05:21 PM by me b zola
On Hardball, a rw shill just used Obama's middle name (as a slur), and Mathews called him out on it. The shill said that he was just teasing Obama giving him a hard time because nobody knows who he is. Mathews didn't buy it and said he did it to make people think of terrorists.

Anyone who considers themself a journalist should do the same. Call them on their bullshit.

:)

7. It really is
But it was an example that Chris used to show that the shill had an agenda by using Obama's middle name and he didn't do the same with other elected officials.

26. Didn't BartCop give him that name?
BartCop coined the terms BFEE, media whores, the Giggling Murderer (Smirk), the Vulgar Pigboy (Rush) and many others. So without specific knowledge to the contrary, I assume BartCop also gave Tweety his name.

8. Ed Rogers is one of the worst of the worst (and that is saying something!)
of the reichwing rethuglican shills. He could be shredded, mashed, liquefied and press into toilet paper and he would give paper cuts of epic portions so sharp and divisive is his damn tongue.

He was playing the KKKarl personal smear by smirking Obama's middle name and it bit him in the ass. He is pre-11/7 mind set - and scared witless of Obama.

Fortunately Tweety called him on his shit and Ed had to whine "I know what you are trying to get me to say and I'm just not going to do it." Chickenshit a$$hole. Rogers is the type of person who would sucker punch a blind guy and then whine when he gets a white cane up his ass.

Name your poison--child molestation, wife or mistress beating, prancing around with hookers while touting the family values mantra, excoriating gays whilst having a great time for himself in the closet...you could picture him smack dab in the middle of any one of those dramas. He's got that "over-pomaded preacher" look about him....wound up just a LEEEETLE too tight, methinks:

17. LOL At the end of the segment he asked Rogers for his middle name.
Rogers resisted saying it until the Dem guest said she looked it up online just before the show (talk about being prepared LOL). She said it started with an 'M.'

So Rogers was forced to tell Tweety that his middle name was French. Maurice.

ROTFLMAO! Too funny. Tweety started calling him Ed Maurice Rogers.

No one thought anything of it until the Gulf War during Junior High. Luckily he was a very popular kid, so very little teasing happened.

Is the GOP seriously resorting to sub-junior high level maturity?

28. Yes they are...in a big way
CNN's Jeff Greenfield yesterday said that voters would link Obama to Iran's leader because neither one wears a tie. WTF? Greenfield is supposed to be CNN's number one political reporter and he pulls this out of his arse? What person in their right mind would ever make a bizzar connection like that? It was truly mind-numbing to hear.

Clearly the gop is scared of Obama and is grasping @ straws.

31. And CNN also ran with the "Hussein" bit as well

It turns out that Jeff Greenfield isn't the only one at CNN connecting Senator Barack Obama to Muslim extremists on the basis of his name. Jeanne Moos is doing it, too, and she has some handy split-screen effects: She's displayed Obama in split screens with not one, but two of America's leading Middle Eastern nemeses, Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Check out our screen grabs below. Moos' spot is obviously meant to be tongue-in-cheek; she lets us hear the Senator's humorous take on it: "I mean, it would be one thing if my name was 'John Hussein Smith.' When you're already starting with 'Barack Obama...'" On the other hand, split screens with Osama and Hussein? It makes you wonder if the ad man for GOP Senator Saxby Chambliss — who unseated Max Cleland with ads linking him to the two — is working for CNN now.

34. If he is going to run, or just aspire to higher office
he's better have a plan to face this right from the top.

The worst thing for him would be a whispering campaign that no one is talking in public, even here on DU - and I appreciate the sensitivity.

Still, some think that his name - Obama - is like Osama. And with a middle name Hussein they will not need more "convincing."

So he and his advisers better device a plan that address this as soon as he announces his candidacy (if he will).

I am watching on Showtime the series "Sleeper Cell" and the main character is an FBI agent who is African American and a Muslim. Last year and this year he has the full support and respect of his superiors and peers. But he got a new contact agent now who, as soon as something went wrong, threw in his face that he was a Muslim.

Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 07:38 PM by Clark2008
as is the culture in the Middle East - so you can imagine that he's sitting here wondering why the hell everyone's talking about his middle name. LOL. He's really not bothered by it at all. He thinks it's kind of funny.

P.S. Which means, of course, that it's my ex-husband's middle name for those of you who understand what I mean by the Middle Eastern culture.
