I've just concluded a very productive meeting with the secretary of Defense, Rumsfeld, and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Pete Pace, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the vice president.

I thank these -- I thank these men who wear our uniform for a very candid and fruitful discussion about the -- about how to secure this country and how to win a war that we now find ourselves in. We spent a lot of time talking about a new way forward in Iraq, to help the Iraqi government confront and defeat the enemies of a free Iraq. We all agree it's in our nation's interest that we help this government succeed. We recognize that there are enemies that would like to topple this young democracy so they could have safe haven from which to plot and plan attacks against moderate nations in the Middle East, as well as attacks against the United States. It's in our interest that we help this government succeed.

There has been a lot of violence in Iraq, and the violence has been horrific. Scores of innocent men, women and children are being brutally killed by ruthless murderers. Our troops are engaged in offensive operations. And we mourn the loss of life. We are saddened by the loss of every single life amongst our servicemen and women..........

7. I'm beginning to think that hell is too good for Bush.
Besides, the Devil might not want that much competition down there.

4. Are you implying he shares some of the responsibility for the Iraq, um, accident?
Look, no one could have predicted that if we invaded that country, anything bad or unplanned would have happened. I mean, there's a reason why they call it "unplanned", you know!!

5. bush said "how to win a war that we now *find* ourselves in"...?
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 06:19 PM by peacebird
A pre-emptive war of CHOICE that the decider chose to engage in. "We" find ourselves in the tar-pit because bush CHOSE to go to war, all hopped up on his "shock-n-awe" shuck-n-jive...

So greedy was he to claim Iraq's oil fields for his buddies, so stupid was he as to believe the bs and hype of the neo-cons.... Now he tries to pass it off as something we just happened to FIND OURSELVES IN?!?

yeah - right....
:sarcasm:

6. More meaningless drivel from the POS-in-Chief
<<Scores of innocent men, women and children are being brutally killed by ruthless murderers. Our troops are engaged in offensive operations.>>

So, what is he saying? WHO are the ruthless murderers? If it's the "insurgents", wouldn't he say "our troops are engaged in defensive operations? Does the idiot EVER make any sense at all?

The whole damned thing is offensive, IMO.

8. He makes it sound as if we were just walking along and accidently
wandered into Iraq.

America is going to wear Iraq - withdraw now or withdraw later. America wears all the death and all the destruction. America wears all the torture and all the abuse.

America.Wears.It.All.

Should America decide to do the right thing for a change and hold the Bush Administration criminally accountable for their actions then America might be able to redeem itself a little.

Maybe not though. I'd be hard pressed to look kindly on the country that invaded my home for lies , arrested people for no reason, and then tortured them. I wouldn't think much of the people in that country either. I'd probably want revenge no matter how long it took...

But that's just me...
