Maybe it is a good time to say a prayer
for those kids stuck in Iraq right now.

May not help, but sure can't hurt.

And religious denomination does not matter at all.

You don't even have to be religious right now.

Joe

12. Pray for Sen. Tim Johnson of S.D., and for Our Country...
"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." (James 4:14.)

6. Send us Thy Peace, oh Lord
which is perfect and everlasting, that our souls may radiate peace.
Send us Thy Peace, oh Lord, that we may think, act, and speak harmoniously
Send us Thy Peace, oh Lord, that we may be contented and thankful for Thy bountiful gifts.
Send us Thy Peace, oh Lord, that amidst our worldly strife we may enjoy Thy bliss.
Send us Thy Peace, oh Lord, that we may endure all, tolerate all, in Thy grace and mercy.
Send us Thy Peace, oh Lord, that our lives may become a divine vision, and in Thy light all darkness may vanish.
Send us Thy Peace, oh Lord, our Father and Mother, that we Thy children on earth may all unite in one family.

11. Hey, buddy..
I tend to curse the ones that put them there, prayer having never really worked too well for me.

But I will give it a shot.

By the way, where is Troy right now?

I think about him quite often.

13. Maybe like this one
This combat soldier's prayer,
Who has served his time in Hell,
Is may we learn the lessons of war well,
That we not doom future generations,
The same old tales of horror to tell,
To endure what in youth they see mistakenly as glory.
Oh God, do not let our children
Repeat the same old story.

Make it so that America's babies live to grow old
In this land of the free and the bold.
Help us throw off the shackles of hate that bind
And grow old in a life of a peaceful kind.

Teach us that there is no glory in war,
Nor honor there that brave men should not abhor.
Teach us instead, one for another our brothers to love.
Shower us with thine Celestial message from above,
That we plant seeds of peace evermore
And make war-no-more!

But if I should die on some far, far away battlefield
Know I answered the call
For a grand principle of freedom to yield.
My fervent prayer is that death
May not have been in vain
Fighting for peace and right for the world to attain.

My brothers, American roses standing by my side
On alien soil dying
In the summer of my youthful pride
All the leaves around me falling,

Now I’m lying here still, in sunshine and in shadow,
Longing to hear, “brother next door, I love you so."
For moldering in the soft ground below,
I feel you living and loving in the world above me
Standing tall because I fought that you might be...
Oh look ye down now,
And tell me you still think of me
Honor my red blood, spilt that others might stand free.

Tell me that I did not give my all for you in vain
That brothers and sisters do not look upon my sacrifice
With hateful,
Or even worse,
Uncaring disdain.

Do not forget me when my valley’s hushed
And white with snow,
Grass growing green in the summer of my meadow
Help me see the peace I lived and died for grow.

Make my lonely grave richer,
Sweeter be...
Make this truly,
"The land of the free
And the home of the brave,"
I gave my life to save
That I might too, lie eternally,
Forever free...

15. Sending love and energy
to all souls trapped in Iraq. May the American people find a way to stop the madness that is being carried out our in our name. Give the presidents handlers the strength to stand up and stop this charade of a presidency. We ask for the strength to pull together as a nation and assure that the right thing is done. Peace on earth, Kim

In the last couple of weeks, almost all of our 172nd Stryker Brigade guys & gals (the ones Rummy screwed a few days before they were due to ship home, made 'em stay 4 more months), about 3800 altogether, are home.

In the last 2 years, they lost 26 to KIA. No telling how many wounded, physically and psychologically. Even this war-hating liberal has yellow ribbons and Welcome Home in the yard.

The troops NEED our prayers, wishes for good karma, and general support. I'm not religious. I am not a fan of any type of conservative politics. But I am a huge troop supporter, and am sending every bit of good karma this household of two veterans can send.

Adding many hopeful thoughts for our Senator Johnson, D-SD, as well. Best wishes for a full recovery and good thoughts to all your family and friends, Sir. We NEED you!!

:kick: and  Joe. Thanks for the reminder.

25. I was so happy to see those poor kids out of there.
They really are all good kids.

I'd really like to see the entire 2nd Division singing Chistmas carols - From Lewis, and Alaska and Hawaii.

Rah for the 172nd. They are home now and they deserve to be home.

18. Don't bother praying at all.
Instead, pick up a phone and call your rep. or senator. This isn't a mess God is going to clean up for us.

22. Hi Joe!
Hope you are well, considering everything. You are right of course, it can't hurt to say a prayer.

I will write a letter to Senator Durbin and Obama tomorrow. They are due to hear from me again.

It seems as though it's getting to be too late to do much of anything about Iraq militarily except to

hold on and pray for mankind to come to it's senses. I look at the map of the middle east and all the

neighboring countries and I can't believe the mess Bush has got us into. The only answer is a lot of

political maneuvering which Bush is not capable of. I really think the best option for us and the world

is to impeach Bush and Cheney, fast. That's my prayer, my hope. There is just too much on the line.

I don't want two more years of these two idiots blowing up the world. No matter what they do.....they

have no credibility. They are hated around the world. How can we succeed at anything with this hatred?

My thoughts are with all those stuck in that hell hole and the loved ones that are aching for their return.

So I'll say a prayer for you too, Joe. Take Care.

24. Hi Tinksrival,
I am sorry I take so long to read posts.

I agree with everything you said - word for word.

Pray for those kids - not parents. They need it a lot more. And I think now more than ever.
