Bloggers back another prez bid by Kerry
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 09:27 PM by LittleClarkie
Well, sorta. We from the Kerry group were there to show him we cared. TayTay says they didn't mention 2008. But it's the media, so whatchagonna do.

http://news.bostonherald.com/localPolitics/view.bg?articleid=171750

(excuse the Conservative source, but sometimes the Herald covers Kerry better than the Globe. Not sure why)

Judging from the crowd at his 63rd birthday party, U.S. Sen. John Kerry may not be ready to blow out the candles on a 2008 presidential campaign just yet.
Kerry, who celebrated his birthday Monday, held a bash in Boston for bloggers from as far away as Mississippi and California to wish him well as he mulls another run.
“We wanted to stay connected and say that we’re still here and we’re still listening,” said blogger Terri Buchman, who helped organize the party at Kerry’s downtown office.
The 43 bloggers in attendance all supported Kerry’s 2004 bid on sites such as “Democratic Underground.” Buchman said party chatter didn’t dig too deeply into 2008 speculation, but Kerry acknowledged bloggers play a critical role in building support.
“These are people who care, who are creative, and who know the value of people powered politics,” Kerry said. “Over the last two years, they’ve had my back in the fight on the Alito nomination . . . and in the lonely fight (U.S. Sen.) Russ Feingold and I waged to change course in Iraq.”

Blogger Terri, btw, is our own TayTay.

I only wish I'd been one of the 43.

3. More power to him. John Kerry's a good man.
If he's the nominee, I'll back him 100-percent.

7. I wonder how many of the 40 or so were us. And I'd like the ones who met him to explain something
to those people who think that Kerry is a cold, aloof, disingenuous, insincere, entitled snob. I'd like them to tell the people about the man they met. Because he sure doesn't sound like the same guy.

9. It was a great time...
And no, we really didn't talk about '08. Mostly '06 and how great the congressional elections went. We were really there to show our support and wish the good Senator a Happy Birthday.

He and Teresa were gracious and warm - no different than last year. Good people, those Kerrys.

10. Agreed
He is, in fact, a very good senator, and a decent human being.
