We almost lost what we don't have,
I mean the control of the Senate or the future. Until Jan * and co are still in control of the Government.

The illness of Sen Johnson shows just how tight our lead in the Senate will be after Jan. IMO it is time for DU to start taking reality into our political considerations.

Like we need to be nice to Old Joe from CT, impeachment seems unlikely in the Senate, speculation about shadow candidates who may or may not run seems silly. We have two years of walking on egg shells and trying to govern.

We will need skill, luck and leadership. You know what we don't need.

1. That's why when we get into power in Jan the Dems need
to establish just how they are going to run Congress and how they are going to end this war...if it's by Impeaching * then so be it..

Welcome to DU!:hi:

2. Right on!! C_KJohn
We were getting a bit too big for our britches and not being one bit nice to one another, either. Stop the name calling for both sides of this political mess.

4. Has there ever been a situation like this in U.S. history where
...control of either house officially won in a tight election was turned over to the opposing party following an election due to illness or death of one of the majority members before the new session of congress began? If so, who, when and what were the circumstances?
