1.  A blatant and planned attempt to make it look like the
"facts on the ground" are already established and we are stuck there in Iraq and can do nothing about it.

The Middle East would be in a conflagration BUT FOR OUR PRESENCE as the saying goes, who benefits?

3. My first impression of GW's refusal to make a decision
was because it was getting too close to Christmas, his mind was too full of all these theories from all different directions, and he just couldn't be bothered with all those details. As soon as his Christmas vacation is over and he gets back to work, he'll think about what to do about Iraq...if and when he wants, and not before.

No one is gonna ruin his Christmas.
