Has he bankrupt Social Security yet?
I vision millions of desperate, hungry, baby boomers who are wanting to retire, but are being hired as cheap labor instead..

1. SS is already bankrupt.
Congress raided that cookie jar a long, long time ago.

BTW, you don't have to have a vision to see "baby boomers .... but are being hired as cheap labor instead."

Check your local supermarket or retailer.

2. SS has no problem over the next 75 years - the "full benefit" age will
be raised from Reagan's 67 to 70 over those years, but that is about it - still retire at 62 but on a little less.

Only problem is funding the repayment of all government bonds (those worthless IOU's ? :-) )

The tax rate on the rich will have to be restored to a higher level - and that has the rich GOP in a panic.

But it is not a SS problem as Japan will be asking for cash in 10 years as it funds its own government programs. No way we will tell Japan that our US Bonds are worthless.

4. So it'd OK for me to
write you a check for $2,000 with no money in the bank?

If the fund is full of IOU's even taxing the rich will not fill it's coffers.

it's rather silly if you stop and think about it, there are not enough jobs to go around as it is, no one wants a bunch of old and elderly people hanging on to their jobs w. a death grip and refusing to retire and give younger blood a chance

old people won't quit a good job because age discrimination past 40 is real, they know they won't be hired for something better, so they will cling like a vine to what they've got

this cripples the future of younger people who don't get a chance to advance in their career before they are too old themselves

don't write off social security just yet, it will be funded just fine, and the needs of the younger generation will be the reason, no one really wants to go back to the days when they are forced to take in their mother-in-law and feed and house her for life!
