I know part of me is praying for Tim Johnson to live for that reason and I must admit I feel a bit guilty for it.

It's crazy.

2. I have been thinking that even before this thing with Sen. Johnson happened,
we might have to take to the streets to demand accountability.

Bush has put off his "assessment" of the war until January. This was met with what response from the loyal opposition? (Dems).

I have been concerned that the so called balance of power would end up with factions within the Dem party cannibalizing the issues, and nothing of substance would happen regarding the abuse of power by this administration.

But all of this is moot, if we don't have the stomach to "take it to the street".

8. I second that!
We absolutely HAVE TO take to the streets in a massive protest if the Senate is turned over.

4. It is critical that we increase the number of Democrats in the next election.
This one vote majority/minority is just too risky. We have too many elderly office holders who could become ill or die at any time.

I hope and pray that Tim Johnson has his health restored for his sake and that of his family.

7. True. Byrd looks like he's barely making it these days....
And Ted Kennedy and Carl Levin aren't exactly spring chickens. (But at least they're from Democratic states with Democratic governors.)

6. I prayed for the Republican senator with leukemia to live.
Didn't have to. We wouldn't get his vote either way.
