We better start talking about Senate 'flippers'
first of all: GET WELL SOON SENATOR JOHNSON! not for Senate control but for your family.

now, we need to start figuring out if there are any potential 'flippers' out there. damnit the PEOPLE voted for CHANGE on November 7th and if this turns out the way the MEDIA is hoping :eyes: is there anyone out there with enough fortitude to switch parties to uphold THE PEOPLE'S VOTE?

if anyone has a good list, we need to start courting them NOW!

1. Media work needs to be done to pressure the governor to appoint a Democrat
Framing needed right now. May I suggest that the governor of one state must not politicise this poor man's condition, act as a dictator and thwart the will of the American people.

The people in his state voted in a Democratic, and he ought to bend to the will of the people and appoint one in the interim, if necessary.

3. Beats me
In any case, his phone is already ringing from the GOP, so we need to have our people in the state make that bell jangle even more.

the governor that signed SD's awful abortion banning legislation.

8. I'll nominate the Junior Senator from my state.
Susan Collins

According to Linc Chaffee (sp?) on TDS the other night, she is one of only 3 GOP moderates left (Spector and Snowe being the other two).

Other than her, I think the rest of the "49" are too far gone to be of any help.

And while I'm still pissed at her refusal to investigate the missing $8.8 billion, with a little de-programming and re-education, she might make a half-way decent Blue Dog.

9. snip for the important bit of the news
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/12/14/johnson.ill/index.html

Johnson, 59, was out of surgery at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, a source close to the senator told CNN. He was hospitalized Wednesday morning after he appeared to suffer stroke-like symptoms. The surgery was described as "successful."
