Any pressure yet for Sen. Johnson to step down?
Is it my imagination or does anyone else see the media laying the groundwork for a "Johnson should do the right thing and step down" campaign.

1. Nope. I don't think they would be cause of Arlen and his medical issues.

2. No other senator has EVER been pressured to step down
because of health reasons. And some have been out of commission for years.

4. I don't know why there should be.
They're about to go into recess for Xmas and the guy is just barely out of surgery.

5. All precedents have been set on this & in fact, a republican senator
from South Dakota who became incapacitated and was pressured to give up the office would not until the Governor promised to appoint his wife of which the governor would not. As a result, he stayed in the office and finished out his 3 years and his office staff pretty much handled things. Also, understand this former republican senator is now in a legal office with the senator's son in South Dakota.

Chip Reed says the key is (vacancy). Unless there is a vacancy there is no precedent for him to have to give up the office.

6. No one asked Reagan to "step down" when he was in the
hospital, recovering from a bullet wound. And he didn't have reasonable cognitive skills before or after that event.

Let Sen. Johnson get better and have his staff assist him accordingly until he's ready to return to his duties.

7. Yes, I see it and it's pretty ludicrous considering
the Republican lead Congress took 262 days off last session.
