Just saw replay of Post SOTU gladhanding - BUSH clearly seeks DiFi
at one point and actually digs through the crowd for her and grabs her arm, pulling her towards him, and laughing whispers something in her ear to which she responds with a big smile and a giggle and says something back to him as he smiles. Wonder if the diologue went something like "Hey Dianne, we kicked that pain in the ass, Cindy Sheehan out of here earlier..did ya hear?", to which she maybe responded "Hey, yeah that's great! Nothing like fostering a little Bi-partisanship here in the beltway, eh?"

(obviously I am not quoting anybody....but really -- you gotta see the CSPAN replay of that gladhanding section at the end....what are they saying? and why are they smiling and so happy...together?"

1. I saw that and was pissed myself
 Ugh. I saw Kerry shook his hand but at least he wasn't smiling and chucking it up. He's just a poliet guy.

2. Saw that too
They all make me sick. Sheila Jackson Lee went over the line too, trying to get to shake * hand.

I didn't see it, but I read here that Harold Ford, Jr. made a fool of himself. Will try to catch it on repeat.

9. Sheila Jackson Lee looked all...
excited to shake Condis' hand and appeard to engage Rumsfeld in a short exchange at the initial parade of criminals. What's that all about?

18. She ALWAYS does that. It pisses me off. Last year she literally
blocked Bu$h's path to shake his hand.

20. I remember that too
She always sits in the aisle so she can grab his hand. They lose credibility with me when they are criticizing Bush one minute and then do gymnastics to shake his hand the next.

40. And think, this is just how they act in FRONT of the cameras
you'd probably puke up your dinner, watching them guffaw over a meal in DC. It's an astounding sight, watching so-called party pit bulls having splendid dinners together.

27. Maybe she had a point to make with Rumsfeld...
She's trying to help a veterans group and sadly this may be the only chance a rep gets to talk to him. He did look quite uncomfortable BTW!

I found this:

Texas veterans claim ARINC failed on military training
By DAVID E. LEIVA, Staff Writer

A Texas veterans group charged yesterday that Parole-based ARINC Inc. has "negligently endangered" the lives of American ground troops in Iraq and Afghanistan because the company hired unqualified trainers for the latest Global Positioning System.

32. Ford was just trying to get face time on camera since he's
running for Senate in my "red" state.

Ford treats everyone pretty affably - until they, like that bitch from Ohio, start calling Democrats names. Then he crosses the aisle to smack 'em. :)

:puke: Glad these a$$holes are all so friendly, meanwhile real Americans are trying to figure out how to GET BY ON A DAILY BASIS! :grr: Don't these Democrats realize that every time they schmooze up to Pinhead**, his over-inflated ego grows just that much larger and the more he longs to stab them in the back? Or maybe he isn't stabbing them in the back? :puke:

38. Isn't Rep. Tubbs-Jones the one who questioned Ohio's election tampering?
I wouldn't touch that bastard bush with a 10-foot pole if I were a Dem from Ohio.

Maybe it's just me, but I have a real problem with people schmoozing up to the person who suppresses minorities and mocks genuine war heroes for the benefit of his war profiteering buddies.

6. Landrieu appeared to ask for his AUTOGRAPH
I hope she had a darn good reason..i.e.,
1) to fulfill some child's 'Make-a-Wish' dream
2) to auction it off immediately after the impending impeachment
3) to transfer over to the Imperial Resignation letter

Damn, she votes the right way and people STILL bash her. What were you wanting, her to spit in his face? Cathartic, yes. But not effective politics and this is an election year. There is NO pleasing some people here.

25. She voted YES on the cloture vote, which is what matters...
The NO was merely symbolic, and meant to trick people like you who haven't been following the procedure.

Check out the cloture vote.

Don't mean to slam you, but look beyond the smoke and mirrors.

28. I know what a cloture vote is and I know how she voted.
I don't know why people can't understand that we lost the Alito battle waaaaay before the last-minute filibuster attempt. They got Scalia and Thomas, we got Ginsburg and Breyer. Almost all nominees are confirmed. We lost when Sandra Day O'Connor announced her retirement. I don't feel like punishing a Democrat from a "red" state like LA which just lost a HUGE chunk of its Dem voters.

31. Then why post the "NO" vote nonsense?
"Why punish her?"

I'm not punishing anyone. If I were in her state, I'd be looking for a populist candidate to run against her. FORCE THE ISSUES.

Dems MUST hang together for the good of the party. Wishy-washy dems need to take a hike. It makes the party look bad to have obvious glad-handing enablers on our side of the aisle.

The party must start fighting some battles. This "keeping the powder dry" is crap, especially from a state whose powder is ruined with gulf water.

Landrieu has had a chance to show ALL OF AMERICA how badly the administration handled the aftermath of the storm, and continues to handle the situation of the homeless. She could shine a spotlight that would illuminate the entire country.

Instead she chooses to stand with her cap-in-hand and hope for scraps.

We need vocal truth-tellers.

Stop making excuses for her.

24. Much more presidential to have no hand shaking

Not saying anything about Bush or Clinton or any of them that do it, but I just think one would look more Presidential and more of a leader to walk straight to the well of the House without shaking anyone's hand. And to walk straight out afterward.
